Got .71 Cf w-5/8 -- around .66 w-3/4
5.75" top mount height -- 11" outer driver dia
Midgate folds to about 50deg or take box out

Had to mod seat underside and raise 1/2"
Now that I know it fits, time to build the real one

Zimm----
It is just Laminate/contact paper
A quick/ cheap finish but not very durable

A box builder I know sugested it as a second security for leaks [ if there was a leak, you could see the material moving]
This is just my mold, for a solid wood box, soon to come

so that's on the driver's side rear...whats the specs...the dimensions...if you would please...it'd help...i am in the process of constructing boxes and i think i am going to have to build another one for the passenger side...the one i have so far is too small interior volume for the sub

BIS-----------
There are three different sizes that you can get under the seat, depending on what driver you use
What is your sub and power expected to be?

The one in the pic required some out of the ordinary modifications--
I only am using 10 Inf/ref that required .75
and running only 140Wrms and it sounds very decent

I have a friend that is a finish carpenter and are hopeing to duplicate it in oak or teak and make them avail, if there is any interest??

I like it. I think it looks pretty good. I think the finish looks a little like lightning strikes. Cool.

for those who want a simple install and good sounding hidden sub, see the jl audio site, or see my pics on the link below. I have the JL 10" sub in the center console, and this things rocks and rolls and pulls the house down, no kidding.

JL Audio Stealthbox in Center console with 10" sub
Alpine DVA 7996 DVD/MP3/CD/Tuner Head Unit
Alpine M790 Motorized Screen
Alpine SPX-177A Front Door Speakers
Alpine SPR-174A Rear Door Speakers
Alpine F450 five channel amplifier

How much did the equipment cost?
Did you install it yourself?
If not, how much did the install cost?

With the Stealthbox by JL Audio, you will loose your rear A/C vents, 90% of your storage space, and can not go back to stock very easily. However, the Stealthbox will give you serrious bass. One of the reasons for this, is it is located at your hip. A great option for the AV owner who wants bass and can do without the above mentioned items.

i like the finish on the enclosure. there was a post awhile back where one of the members built a foundation for the amps and capacitor. basically they were countersunk about halfway down in the base. it was pretty cool looking. basically it hid all the wires. i was thinking of doing something like that. you may want to consider it also. it will compliment that nice enclosure you have. maybe cover it with matching carpet. ??? just my .02.

Cool sub box. It looks like mine that I built about a month ago. I also used the Infinity 10". I guess Ave only allows for certain kind of dimensions. How do you like the infinity 10"? I love mine...it sounds like there are 2 10" in the back.

I have the JL Audio stealthbox, P/N 94098. Check out the image I have above for the complete info on the stealthbox for the AV. I lost the rear AC and Heating Vents. I taped them off with duct tape at the front base, and put some small slots in the tape for some breathing of the vents. Oh well, so the rear seat passengers only have the floor vents to keep them warm, but atelast they have a nice stereo to listen to back there!!

My good friend has a stereo shop, so he installed everything for me for only 100 dollars to pay for his worker. Everything else was as follows:

Alpine 790 Screen $1250
Alpine 7996 Headunit $900
Alpine SPR-174 $150
Alpine SPX-177A $ 325
Alpine F450 Amp $375
Jl Stealthbox $390

The best part is my stereo sounds crisp and clear, unlike most systems that have way too much bass or to much highs. Everybody that sits in my AV says WOW, it sounds so clear. And they all have stereo systems in their truck/cars.. I am really impressed with the sound and quality out of this stereo system.

I compared the Alpine with Pioneer, Kenwood and Eclipse I think it was. The Alpine blew everybody away when it came to picture and sound. I like to keep everything the same manufacturer, thats why I choose Alpine. They make high quality products.

This radio allows input for still two more screens, so eventually, maybe sooner than I expect, I will put a screen in each headrest. Right now, I am happier than a pig in ^&%$ with the radio the way it is. The best part, I can listen to mp3's, so now I have 110-135 songs on each CD. That is better than XM radio I think!!! :) :)

The JL Audio Stealthbox sounds great. The sound quality is superb. It really helps to pull the soundstage to the front of the vehicle which is one of the biggest challenges in sound quality competition vehicles.

I'm building a new custom fiberglass center console for a 12" sub and 2 - 8" midbass speakers which leaves me with a JL Audio Stealthbox that I don't need.

Check the parts for sale forum...asking $275. I've had it installed only 3 months. It includes the JL Audio 10W3D2 subwoofer.

Rkulp is throwing a damn good deal to all you audio lovers! The JL Stealthbox is the best sounding sub you can put into an Av without serious modification or box building. Great sound quality, transient response that is unequaled, and good low end response.

By the way, post some pics of the console enclosure if you get a chance, rkulp. I'm in the process of working on my Av as well, and am doing my best to get a single 10" in the front end for competition as well. I'm planning on chopping up the midgate for a more serious sub setup, by the up-front woofer can't be beat for soundquality.

EDZ--
yes they are lighning bolts

02--
It definitly needs some mounting point [amp]
but even with the amp on the carpet, if you fold the seat it indents the seat,[leather] so I don't think I would build it up--

Sleepy head--
I first went with the polkGNX10 in a smaller height box
which fit nicely, and gave decent bass /very tight
when I fiqured out how to get more Cu Ft and hight
I tried the Inf/ref 10-- definitly deeper /more range
I think it is a great sub for minimal power apps
if there is any money left after chrstms--
shying towads MOMO10 or audiobahn 10

Here is a picture of the top of the Stealthbox. It looks like the installer cut away the carpet underneath the cup holder. I would guess it was because the cupholder was vibrating against the box? I don't know the reason for sure, but the console (surprisingly) didn't vibrate or rattle and it's completely covered up by the console.

It appears that I have the box sold, but if for some reason he changes his mind at the last minute, I'll repost.

Regards,

Rob Kulp

A few members have asked how far the midgate folds with a decent size box 10"sub x [.66] under the drivers side rear

still has some functionality
but for total , you have to remove the box
