My roof was working fine all day today and now after opening the vent it won't close. When pressing the button I hear it triggering to open, but in the other direction I hear nothing. It leads me to belive that the switch went south. Does anybody know what colors are needed to hot wire it shut until I can get to the dealer? :E:

It might be that your sunroof tracks are dirty. I had the similar problem and once I cleaned the tracks everything was fine.

Good luck.

Thanks for the replies. It's an 02. I have it in the vent position and completely open yesterday. Right now It's stuck in the vent position and the only problems I had with the unit was the wind deflector was broken earleier this year, I'll try the jump this afternoon. I do hear the relay clicking when I press the button in one direction and no sound in the other direction of the switch.

Module or switch if it isn't the wiring at either.

Here's your print.. Click on the link to make it mo biggerer..

PIC too wide......

Did you have the battery disconected with the sunroof open?

I know on my '03 that the sunroof has to "relearn" it's opperation after the battery is disconected.

I had this happen to me when I was installing my roof marker lamps.

805 Engineer & sperry a little  to ya. I'll try it in a couple of hours. As for losing power I was working on my car all day but had a battery maintainer on, so loss of power is not an issue. It did run through my mind though.

Let us know what you find.

Well I tried jumping the terminals and I found out that the switch is good, I did the TSB and nothing there also. So it leads me to believe that the motor has taken a run for the border :8: So, tomorrow at 0730hrs I'll be knocking on my service managers desk asking if he can just get it to close until he can fit me in. Oh well I needed to put the windshield in anyway. Thanks for everyones help. (y)

I'd put a voltmeter accross the motor terminals first. If it's showing a polarity change with open-close, something's weird if the motor won't reverse with it.
If not, Look at the module..

Yep! It would be nice if we could just click on all things to make them bigger! >:D

I got a phone call from the service manager about 2 hours ago and he said that the motor was completely shot. Hopefully all should be done by the end of tomorrow.

Weird that a DC motor will go one way and not the other (direct connect to the terminals). Unless it's geared up and those gears are binding.

I do remember one that acted that way when the bearings and brushes were shot; you must have used it a lot if that was the case... ???

At least they isolated the fault!
