My wife and I just bought an '02 Sunset Orange Avalanche, after we traded in our '00 Sunset orange suburban! The color grew on us, and we really like it. I have just ordered some Zaino products to get the color looking awesome!!! BTW, IMO I think the darker cladding would look great, but orange cladding would be too much!

The color was a factory option for 2000...have only seen one other suburban in that color in Detroit! Also, there were some pickups in that color. However, dont have any pics for the 'burb...will try to get some avalanche pics when its cleaned/polished with Zaino!

If i saw one on a lot, i would buy it right away
SOM is the best color in the world on trucks, and I was buyin an Av because one of the purks was the SOM

If anyone on this site has any info on a SOM Suburban, PLEASE PLEASE post some info and pics

I really need to see how that looks

Penguin, was your subs body cladding painted SOM or was it black unpainted plastic?

I first saw the color on a crew cab silverado Last winter while on a snowmobiling trip and I made up my mind to get a truck the same color. Turned out I got both a truck and suv.
 
Hey I plan on going snowmobiling and using my Gorgeous Z71 SOM Avalanche to haul them! Where do you guys ride? Maybe we can get a group to get together in Michigan!!!! What y'all Think?

Hey vlkwagen!

Our LS Suburban was just turned into the dealer (Lease turn in) GMAC just wouldnt deal on us buying it from them. My wife loved it, but I couldn't justify spending $6k over current market value to buy the lease out! Oh well, we are happy with the Ava...Fortunate to know people who helped with the launch of the vehicle at Silao....(like my WIFE!!!!) Also fortunate to drive several EXT's! The best vehicle ride that GM has is a z66 Avalanche BAR NONE! except a Z06, but that's another story!
