I will be in NYC on business from May 4th through the 8th and will have some evenings to get together with some of the CAFCNA members there - if you want to send me your number in e-mail I will contact you and maybe we can have a little gtg - course I will be AV less as I am flying up. ?:cautious:
This will be my first visit to NYC in a very long time - looking forward to meeting some of you guys!

Richard

Sorry I had the dates wrong - so I changed it!

My schedule looks tight for that time frame, but I will PM you my cell #, hopefully something will break for a quick GTG

I wont have a lot of free time either but would enjoy meeting some of the members - I will call you when I get in town - Thanks. ;) :)

I am also planning a trip to NY, but in Aug. My son is going to be playing baseball in the Cooperstown area. We are hoping to leave a few days early to spend a day or two in NYC before going to Cooperstown.
We will be pulling our trailer & I am looking for some tips on the best way to see the sites. I hope to find a campground outside the city. Any suggestions are appreciated. Also, someone told me I may not want to drive in NYC because it is so busy. Is that true? What is the best way for our family to get around to the sites?
Thanks,
Traz

Traz: If your pulling the camper with your Av the best thing to do is park the trailer outside the city. You can then drive your Av into the city and see the sites, but be perpaired to pay in the area of $50 to $60 for parking for the day.

Another option is to go to a camp ground and take the train into the city and see the sites from there.

DO NOT BRING THE CAMPER INTO THE CITY

If you need, I can check sites for you. Let me know.

Josh is right, I have a few lumps on my Av from my last visit to NYC, I suggest you rent a smaller car. If you are not used to driving in a large city, you would consider it "busy."

Thanks. for the replys.
Josh, If you know of any decent campgrounds I will gladly take suggestions. Doesn't have to be anything special, we will probably be there only 2 nights before we go on to Cooperstown.
I am from near the Cleveland area so if it isn't much busier than that, I don't worry too much about driving in the city. LOL I just want my AV to be ok. I figured parking fees would add up but, I am unfamiliar with the train system & didn't know if it would get me the places we wanted to go. With with a family of 5, I imagine those fares would add up too.
Thank you again for answering. It is great having members all over we can ask questions to.

I have a 32 foot Travel Trailer. I do need electric (I use oxygen at night), but I can do without water or sewage as long as they have a dump station. (never saw a campground without one)
Thanks a lot.
