ok, today it is 108 degrees, my truck is parked in the garage and in there it is like 120, I want to wax my truck, but I am affraid that this high of a temp will not let me have a good wax job. I am getting tired of washing my truck at midnight when it cools down into the 90's.

I would like to get some wax on my truck, but it is impossible to wash it right in the dark yet wax it. Anyone know if I am safe to give this a try in the daytime in my garage, will be extremely hot, but will be out of direct sunlight.

Help..... ???

What wax?

Zaino is ok as well as other polymers......

I will use a zaino type product in the future, but I want to make sure I have all the decal work done that I want before I use this type of product on my av. getting rid of was is easier then stripping off zaino to get decals to stick....

To apply decals when you have zaino...just make mix of rubbing alcohol and water 50/50 in spray bottle and mist and wipe...then apply decal...not that big of a deal......

If you are in your garage and the paint is ok to hold hand on you can apply carnuaba type waxes......just remember they will not last long in that heat...

just wondering, how much is zaino paying everyone per plug of thier product. I have never seen or heard of so many people using polmers on thier vehicles as I have with this site..... in a way I think it is almost humorous...

Go to www.autopia.org everyone has used polymers....it is a detailing site....

Go to many car forums and Zaino and other polymer sealants is talked about........Ecspecially the VETTE forums....and NSX and other high end car sites......

ok, just got done waxing my AV, I look like I jumped in a pool clothes and all cause of sweating in the heat... but well worth it, Av is like one big mirror.

I used Meguiars, and am very pleased with my results.

I also bought some Meguiars vinyl/ rubber protectant. I am wanting to try 303 protectant, but until I find a local business that sells it I am going to try alternatives.

The first couple times I used armor-all on my cladding, even though everyone said not to, I did, and I was not pleased with the results. This new stuff works 100 times better, cladding looks great.

I also bought some flannel cloths for polishing. After waxing and removing excess wax, go over the Av with these. The really bring out the shine even more.

Time for a nice cold beer. >:D

For the 303, try your local ACE Hardware store. I found it here in one. Now I just need to finish up the stuff I'm using now. :E:

YGMN... What kind of shine would I get on a Gark Grey Metallic Av with Zaino? I've tried other polymer base wax before on other dark colored cars, and it seemed to give it an almost steril look. There was plenty of shine, but no depth. I'm currently using Zymol which is carnuba based, and the depth that it give the paint is increadible.

I would like to know that as well.... I av a dark grey Av too...

not that my name doesnt give that way.... nevermind

joy, got my av nice and pretty and now a monsoon storm is rolling through.... my bud who lives east of me called and said the dust storm is brewin and headin my way..... :E:

polymers have a hard time competing with the shine from carnuaba....

Zaino gives a stock shine like fresh brand new paint.....some call it platic looking ...but I dunno I like it........

Carnuaba tends to tint a bit as the wax has a yellow color to it....

Try liquid glass, black fire, platinum, Einzett, Klasse.........they all look a bit different if you do test samples on your hood but if you were try each once a month you would not be able to tell what was what versus wax.......

HTH.....

IMO you just gotta try...pictures do nothing justice...Get a sample from someone at a local GTG and do a small spot and compare to wax......you will be hard press to tell difference.....but after a month or 2 or 3 the polymer will still shine and bead after a bath where as the wax spot will not.....
