My midgate again started leaking-not bad, just irritating. ?I had my local dealer install new midgate gasket,(again), ?and it still leaked. ?I also noticed that the window gasket shrunk a bit, allowing some water to enter. ?I can see the writing on the wall-as my AV ages, the seals will shrink/become ozoned/dry up etc., and water will get in the cab. ?Since I like the AV way too much to sell it, ?I broke down and ordered the Snugtop today from my dealer. ?The dogs will love it, I'm sure, ?and the leaking will be solved.

Steve! How much did it cost? It's been some time ago but I've seen posts for some kind of top of over $2K. I would hope there are cheaper tops out there. Harvey

Doesn't the Snug Top have seals? Won't they shrink/become ozoned/dry up etc?

Not the vertical,(as on window and midgate), seals that will allow water to enter the cab. The big advantage of the Snugtop is that the water cannot penetrate the bed covers in the first place, allowing the water to slop thru the midgate into the rear cab. Dry bed=dry cab.Because the window is removed/reinstalled, and the midgate is lowered and raised, the constant working of the seals, I feel, shortens their lives. The snugtop seems to be the same as a regular pick-up truck cap-the seals should be good for a long time.

I saw my first one up close at the PDX GTG a couple weeks ago. I think they look cool. Hope it solves you problems. I have a hunch you'll like it. ? (y)

How about a 6 month review?

Saw the same one at the same Portland GTG. Steve has a great set up with that snug top. Really looks great up close and personal.
