Hey has anyone had the same issues with tires I have gone thru 4 sets in the 45,000 miles. Tried all different makes, LT AND P tires and prices none seem to help.

What size tires are they 16 or 17"? What tires have you had the problems with? and what are your driving habits...all of this may help to better understand the problem you are having ;)

I'm sure you know the basics: Keep tires properly inflated to the correct PSI, rotate and balance every 5000 miles, and depending on the roads you drive on 2 to 3 front end alignments a year.
 
I am on my second set @ 37,000. The "stock" Goodyear?s suck. :D: :8: They did not last long at all. I have Michelin?s now :love: they are awesome. They ride nice and they are wearing very nice. Just thought I would let you know my experience. Hope it helps.

I hesitated to respond to your post because on the surface it appears to be another attempt to discredit the Av. You give no specific information surrounding the circumstances of your issue. BUT...I'll give you the benefit of the doubt if you will post again with more specific information.

What year Av do you own? Is it a 1500 or 2500? What have been the reasons for replacing four sets of tires? Wearout, blowout, other? What brands, sizes (specifically) have you purchased? Are you still on stock rims? What pressures have you been using in your tires? Have you had any alignments? Who has replaced the tires...dealer, independant shop, tire dealer/s? Do you drive offroad...a little...often? How often have you rotated your tires...checked tire pressues?

If you are seeking our help or advise...this type of info is needed...Many members here have LOTS of experience with tires...

What year avy do you have?
4x4 or 2x4?
1500 or 2500?
What area of the world do you live in?
Do you tow or haul heavy stuff?
What is your typical driving patterns? (Interstate, aroud town, offroad, etc etc)

I replaced the stock Goodyear HP tires around 36k since one got a nail in sidewall...and well....I wanted new rubber...they still had about 3/16" of tread left and would have easily gone another 10K....
 
4 sets of tires in 45k miles . . . hmmm . . . need more info . . . not sure I believe it barring really unusual circumstances.

I have 25k miles on my 2002 1500 Z71's original equipment tires - they look vitrually new - nice even wear. Just rotated them this week - I'm expecting at least 60k out of them - maybe more.
 
I have a 03 1500 and the tires seem to wear a bit more than they should but then again im not a tire guru. I probably have about 10k left on them and im at 25k now. The wear is even but ive had a problem with my front transfer case and drivers side wheel. All hase been replaced and we will see how it goes from there. I am looking to get new rims and new tires, I want ot fill that void in the wheel well a bit but I dont want to kill my ride or MPG.. anyone have any good suggestions.
 
I have an 02 and got it in 01 still have the same tires and lots for tred. When you took it in for tires did you have the alignment checked. If you got the AV used you might get the frame checked you may have got one that was wrecked. :0:
 
I agree with I CHNGE.

I would say that this post is a fraud.

It was posted on 3/5/04 with no reply since.

If this was an issue, the person that posted would have replied.

Time for a moderator to kill it.
 
On my 02 Avalanche, I went through 52,000 miles before I needed to change the tires.  Which tired did you get from the factory.  Can not speak on my 06 yet, only have 1000 miles so far.  How fast do you take  corners?
