To Paint Or Not To Paint?

So, I took the AV in to the dealer for an oil change and a couple of other small items. Work gets completed, I go to pick it up after work. Go inside and pay, come back out just as the runner is pulling up in my AV. He gets out, and begins to remove the lockbox from the window, and BAM, the window explodes!

The dealer was really cool about it - loaner vehicle, replace the window, even offering to repaint the door where it had sustained a couple of scratches and chips.

I'm fairly confident that they can match the paint color, but here is my question: In another 5 - 7 years, will this repainted door fade differently than the rest of the vehicle? Would I be better cutting my losses now and not repainting the door?

Please let me know what you think.

Thanks

Depends, Your color would be one of the ones most likely to show fades.
If they are small I would try and buff out with products for this then Zaino.
If bigger I would paint

Wow, what a weird accident. :p

They should be able to match your paint without a problem and with the clear coat it should age the same. I?d have them paint it. If it doesn?t match make them paint the whole truck!

Paint it.....it will fade the same as the truck is fairly new.....if worried about fade use a sealant with UV blockers like ZAINO...

They can match color but not finish....they will have a hard time matching the factory orange peel....

Good Luck
