I just purchased a 2002 AV 2500 with 36664 miles. It comes with the 3 month, 3000 mile GM warranty. Since it is past the 36K point, I don't have the option to purchase an extended warranty. Are there companies that sell warranty policies in this situation ???

Krazbob;
Go online and do a search for "extended warranties'; there's lots of companies. Check them all for what's covered, what's omitted and prices. I had two a few years ago; one on my 91 vette and one on my 92 Seville. Got them from different companies because one would not cover the vette and one would not cover the caddy. Both of them paid off well!!!

MANY MANY outside companies will provide you an extended warranty. That's not out of the realm of coverage at 36K miles, however it could be very pricy (of course have you priced out a transmission for an Avalanche lately)

Thanks for the tip (y)
I did a search and came up with several which looked pretty good. The one I'm looking at the closes is at Warranty Direct. 4yr/60K miles for $1250 at $100. deductable. I'll be doing more checking on their background before the decision to part with my $$ is made. :cautious:
