I did a search and found posts that said 120 and some that said 140, I was just wondering which one was the correct torque level for my '03 Z71?
Reason I ask is that I had new tires put on today and the installer was surprised at the 140, which he thought was high. He did use a torque wrench to tighten them to 140.
Just curious TIA ;)

Thanks I should have thought of that ?:-[
Thats OK, I was curious myself since I had to buy a "Gorrilla Iron" to get mine loose - at least the '02 and '03 stayed consistent.

140 ft/lbs dry is the proper torque setting. The lug nuts can be a handfull to break loose!

BTW, I'm sure everyone uses this trick....but just in case....Position the lug wrench in a more or less horizontal position. Place one foot on it, then use your body weight to break it free, Almost always works. It's kina like kick starting a Harley. :)
