OK fellow Avalanche owners who can answer this one. If you have the full leather or cloth/leather bucket seats open up your center console lid and take a look at the inside back. You'll find a groove that has been notched into the console. Now if you run your hand down the groove you'll find at the base it is notched out. Clearly this is a groove for a tounge to go into. But just what goes in there?

When I had my S-10 the console had two tiers. There was a shallow top holder that you could remove to reveal the deep "junk drawer" below. Does anything aftermarket go there? Thoughts? Ideas?

Maybe one of those change holder thingys?

Nope - go check it out for yourself. The groove is a good four inches wide and starts at the top of the console and goes all the way down. Clearly what ever goes there is heavier than a change holder (and the change holder is up front on the inside of the console now)

Time to start looking in the Caddy trucks and other trucks to see what they get then.

What trucks use this center console?

It would likely be a CD change holder. There is a knockout in the front by the change holder where the wiring goes to the radio.

This is interesting...I'll have to go and check this one out...

Maybe those small Klexex containers with 20 Klenexs? What I want to know is if you open the glove box there is on the glovebox door, on the right side a spot for something else? What is this for?

OK - the Kleenex holder is located in the lid of the center console. There is an oval cut out that is toward the front of the vehicle in the lid. The notched area will take a 5" X 7" notepad perfectly. The two pen holders are well, well to be honest pretty worthless as I haven't found a pen that is either to small (and falls out) or too big (and I'm afraid it will break the lid if I force it).

In the glove box the clip on the far right side is PERFECT for folding up your registration and putting your insurance card in I've found. Far better than turning your glove box inside out.

Yup - I'm a geek and I have my Kleenex holder and my 5" X 7" notepad (as well as 5 club handouts) in the lid of my console!

Try to find some mechanical pencils they fit in the pen holder since they are tapered.

I ahev kleenex too...never used it yet but it looks pretty cool!

'Ya know... it's readily apparent that some of us (including me) have way too much time on our hands. ?;)

Hey, and just when do I lose this "Fan Club Newbie" moniker? ?I got 50 posts now... I'm dishin' out brochures wherever I can... I got my dealer to sign on... what gives? ?;)

Update: Nevermind.
