I was towing a tandem axle trailer today loaded with tree trunks and got into a little traffic. I went to press the tow/haul button on the end of my shifter but nothing happened. I know there used to be an indicator when it was on. No changes in shifting or anything? I later checked and my 4 High, 4 low and auto 4wd were all working properly, but not the tow/haul mode. Could this be a fuse issue? any other thoughts?

Oh, and on a side note, do you think my 02 Z71 with the towing package came with a tranny cooler? Or is that usually an additional upgrade?

Thanks!!
Benny

make sure it's seated and plugged in. Orange wire off the ignition collum follow it back. Biggest pain is taking off the collum cover and kick panel. I don't think it has a fuse for it. New shift lever $54 and about 20 min

Most of the 02 Avs had external transmission cooler. 03s (mine) and up did not. If you look in your glove box, there will be a bunch of codes. Those are GM's RPO codes telling you what was installed in your car.  If you have "KNP" RPO code in your glovebox, you will have an external Transmission Oil Cooler (TOC). You can actually see it if you pop your hood and look right in front of the radiator - it looks like another small radiator...

the 02's tranny cooler is in the radiator

Sorry for the bad info. I didn't understand it like that. I added external cooler to mine thinking it matches 02's...
