Hey all,

Just bought my wife a trailblazer today and she loves it. I now get the Avalanche to myself :).

How about a picture of the Trailblazer next to the AV?? The Trailblazer was my second choice... figured I couldn't go wrong either way.

Does anyone know of a good web site with a discussion forum for the Trailblazer/Envoy? I guess I could check out the Townhall forums off of Edmunds.com but they are not as user friendly as this site.

I am also thinking about one of these for the wifey next year and would like to really check into the problems, gas mileage, options, etc. Something like CAFCNA would be nice!!

All I can say is that, from personal experience, the Trailblazer is a VERY capable vehicle. I took one on a desert trek last year, under conditions that it should have failed in. It survived with flying colors and got us out of a bad situation. In fact, it performed so well, we're doing a similar trek with one this October. MUAHAHAHAHA!!!! >:D

The TB LTZ was my other choice along with the AV. I loved the interior, and all the bells and whistles, but it just didn't grab me like the AV did. I liked the power of the new inline 6, but I wasn't all that impressed by how it drove and it's view of the road compared to the AV. So after about a month of researching and test runs on each I got my AV. ;D

Wife took a test drive in a trail doggie tonight. looks like we are going to order a 2003. Could not talk her into an AV. I wish they was a site for the trail doggie just like this so I could find more detail info. Guess I will have to just trust Chevy.

My wife is also interested in the Trailblazer, it was my second choice behind the Av. It would be nice if there was a site like this to do some research on.

My wife wanted a Trailblazer/Envoy but our friend who is the Service Manager for a Chevy dealer here in Michigan said they have a lot of problems with the TB. 1 out of every 2 problems are electrical. :D: He was driving a AV that is furnished to him and after a trip to the local diner the wife said she really liked it. So last Monday we were out shopping. Now she has one.

Only because the Trailblazer/Envoy are in their first year of production of an all new head to toe vehicle - I think it's reasonable to expect some level of problems (first model year woes).

You'll notice on the Av that most of the early complaints were on Avalanche specific systems, with exception to oil burning issues on early production models with 5.3 engines out of Canada - but that was a GM product wide issue. This is largely because 85% of the Avalanche parts came out of the tried and true product bucket for the Suburban.

Prediction - 2003 Avalanches will have an increase in the number of interior issues - only because the new interior components being added in their first model year and the increased level of complexity...
