Hi Everyone

I need to install a trailer brake controller into my truck it an 06 with tow package.
I have the oem pigtail that plugs into the wiring harness.
What brand or type of controller should I be looking for.
Is every thing else preinstalled with the tow package?

I like the Hayes Brake Boss for 100% electric brakes. It's tiny and fits nicely in the cubby of my 2004. You need the jumper harness for your particular brake controller to plug into vehicle electrical system under the cover by your left foot. Harness will most likely need to be extended to reach the cubby.

This one turns itself on when you hook up a trailer, applies 10% brake along with the brake lights, and the rest of braking percentage is determined by braking inertia once you begin to stop. I think you should try to keep inertial brake controllers level. It does stick out a couple of inches, but there is a pull on the bottom for manual emergency braking that should remain accessible (and it is right at your fingertips while driving).
