DONT FORGET! :0:
Cameras, GMRS/FRS radios, chairs! bug repellent, sun screen, dishes/cookware

I am posting the plan I have for heading to Butch's from Wisconsin. If anybody is coming another way and you want to add it to this thread you are welcome too, or you can start your own. We are on our own for food, but a few of us today decided we would also bring a dish to pass, so you are welcome to sign up to bring something in this thread also.

dhaluzak, Mdz66, and me are meeting at the Park-N-Ride at the South East corner of I94 and College at 3:am! (Tami said it's OK. ;)) We are going to meet Avialanche at his place in Wadsworth, IL. hopefully on schedule which will be 3:30 am. From there we are taking 94 to I65 in Indiana and meeting Mr & Mrs Z71Dave at a to-be-determined location at one of the Merrillville exits at 5:am. We are hoping we can meet up with any other IL or MI or IN members that plan on heading down I65 at this time, if they want to go that early. I personally do not want to miss any of the drawings! >:D From there we are heading to Lafayette for breakfast. We should be there around 7:am. We should have no problems making it to Butch's by 10:30. Please post if you want to meet up with us on out way down!

Schedule so far:
Park-N-Ride at the South East corner of I94 and College at 3:am
dhaluzak
Mdz66

Now for the food... blackchev and I are just brining bugers/brats for Saturday dinner. We are bringing a small charcoal grill and a screen tent. We will also have a very large cooler full of beer! >:D >:D

Dish to pass:
jnspur/blackchev pasta salad
Biggie chips/drinks
Joan Kidney Bean salad

Dave brought up something on the way home from Kiltie's that could throw off our arrival time to Butch's. Are we on the same time as Indiana? Most of Indiana does not do Daylight Savings. So Butch may be an hour ahead of us.

Yes you are in two different zones butch is in central and your in eastern

IL, IN, and WI are all the same time untill daylight savings in October. Michigan is an hour later right now. MongoRanger's Wife explained all of this too me in May and I still do not get it! :C:

We have to leave earlier?  no problem I would rather drive in the dark anyway.. Whats one less hour of sleep anyway. I drove my Av 19 hours after 4 hours of sleep. >:D >:D.. Matt

That is why I brought it up. We weren't sure if we were on the same time as Indiana or not. Maybe Butch or someome from Indiana can help us out with whether or not we are on the same time or not.

Her is a link to where I got my info.Time Zones
Milwaukee, Indianapolis, and Chicago are all at the same time. Detroit is an hour later (11:30 Indy, 12:30 Detroit.)

I don't know if the Detroit time applies to the whole state, Biggie, aren't you the same time zone as me?

This time zone thing is confusing! We do not set our clocks up or back in the spring and fall so some of the season we are with some of you and other parts of the year we are with the rest of you! It confuses me so I will let you guys figure it out!

Jen I will post a link to the list af members and where they are from into the Central Indiana Modding GTG thread! I LOVE THAT!

See you on September 20th, Butch

Jen,

Where are you folks meeting in Merrillville? I might be able to hook up with you there. I will be in Val-po Friday night.
AV -R

This plan has changed..... see you at Butch's!

For now, until most of the country changes their clocks next month, we are on the same time as those who are on central time. After everyone else (everyone except us and those in Arizona) changes their clocks next month, Indiana will be on the same time as everyone on eastern time. We are always 2 hours ahead of Arizona.

Z71Dave is looking into a spot for us.
If you have a suggestion, let us know.
I hope you can meet us!

WOW a cruise to my place, I am honored! I was hoping this would happen, Avalanches from different areas would cruise in together.

Jen,

The is the way we come home from up your way:

Take I-65 south to the 140 EXIT at Lebanon Indiana.

Take 32 EAST through Westfield and just WEST of Noblesville Hwy. 38 joins up and runs along with 32.

About a MILE EAST of Noblesville 32 splits with 38 AND YOU TAKE 38 through Pendleton.

At the EAST end of Pendleton at a stoplight you turn LEFT onto Hwy. 67 and 36.

JUST about 1/4 MILE US HWY. 36 turns off to the right, take it to EMPORIA.

Cross the tracks and I am about 1/4 mile on your left.
2148 out on the mailbox post. I would guess it is about 40 miles off of I-65 this way.

OR

You could take I-65 all the way to I-465 in Indy, take it to the west to the I-69 exchange and take I-69 up to Anderson exit #26, go south on RD 109 to US Hwy. 36 then turn left and be at the same place. It is about 53 miles off of I-65 if you go this way.

It is shorter taking the Lebanon exit but you guys, not knowing the area might feel better taking the interstate.

Whatever way you come, be safe!

Joan is making a kidney bean salad for a pass around dish.

See you September the 20th! Butch

Musiks, JetMech, Texascwgrl, and I are camping Saturday night. The name of the campground we are staying is Spring Valley Campground (8186 W County Road 575 N, Middletown, IN 47356, 765-354-4521). Here is some info from a website:

Middletown, IN - Spring Valley Campground - Located 40 minutes north of Indianapolis and 25 minutes from Deer Creek, near Anderson,IN. Spring Valley campground is the place for regional music and camping. Twenty five acres of camping, stocked pond and new swimming pool. Hot showers and full service.

Here is a map where the campground is located: CLICK HERE FOR MAP

Butch's house is near the intersection of 36 and 109. Looks like the campground is literaly minutes from the his place!

It is $15 for a water/electric site. Sites with a sewer are $20. They have fishing for $5 per person. And they have plenty of openings for Sep 20.

This is half the price of Mounds State Park, the closest state park. They wanted a 2 night minimum for weekend stays (2 x $20 = $40).

JJ

I was planning on camping in the AV tent in Butch's back yard, but a shower sounds good. I may have to reconsider. Do you guys have a site # yet?

Let me know if you all care to bring side dish to pass for Saturday night.

Jen

If we are going to bring a dish to pass around for the hot dog roast on Sat. night I will need some of you to bring some folding tables. Post here if you have a table that you can bring. NEW MEMBER jomomma (Joan, my wife) is making a BIG Kidney bean salad to pass.

See you September the 20th. Butch

I always thought Indiana was always a little "off".......This may confirm it !! hehehe

And to REALLY confuse some people, parts of Indiana do not change for daylight savings time. So when that happens most of Indiana is back on Eastern Standard Time.

Wife & I live in Hobart, IN, next town over from Merrillville. Will gladly join you at the Merrillville exit (US 30) and hook up with the caravan. We drive an '03 Dk Gray WBH Z66 with stainless nerf bars, flaps, bug deflector, power tailgate lock, and anything else I get done before then!

See Ya Then,
Kevin & Nicole
