Ok got the drive shaft out...

Any Ideas how to get the U Joint out with out a press??

A very large hammer......you>>> :beating:<<<<driveshaft.

All kidding aside you will probably have to heat the shaft around where the joint goes in. GM uses a nylon resin to hold the ujoints in place and its very hard to remove them without heat. I usually heat them till you see the nylon force its way out, no need to get it super hot. Then knock the joint out being careful not to damage the shaft or the yoke.

Thanks - I used a 1-1/8" socket to catch the bearing cap while driving it carefully down with a 3/4" socket and hammer.

I allway's freak out the first time I try these projects - But once I slow down and think about it " just use good old logic and basic mechanics" It works out fine.

No nylon, just clips on our shafts.

Mine has nylon, I haven't looked at the later ones. I'm changing mine on Wed so I looked. I figure with 92k on them I should before I go racing on Sun.
