My brother has nicknamed my AV "PAT" after the Saturday Night Live character of questionable gender. He says my AV doesn't know if it's a truck or an SUV. That's an older brother for you. I just can't wait until I have to pull him out of the snow next winter!!

He's just jealous.

Our Av's are certainly not like anything else before them; but I would use Moses or Gandhi for a name rather than Pat.

I think Chasman is right. BTW, what does your older brother drive? My older brother unknowingly conviced me that I should by a new Avalanche. :B:

Its definitely a SUV.........well maybe a pickup......I can't make up my mind......there has to be a better name for it........Someone at work gave me mine...half-breed. I really consider it a truck.

My Mom has nicknamed my sunset orange AV the Great Pumpkin??? It's kinda funny but it has stuck with the family. :9:

T-R-U-C-K. Have your brother spell that one out and all will be clear. To me , it is a cool new SB truck with factory effects and a slick tonneau. The expandability makes it better than the C/K 1500 SB was. I can tow most things (just like my 1500) and my 5th wheel is still the domain of a 1 ton dually.

...although my fiancee named mine AVA (A-vah), my new blue-eyed mistress. That name kinda sucks too, but she won't let it go!!! >:D

...and I loved the Great Pumpkin. He's real, you know... ;)

I don't have an official name yet, although the folks at the local gas pump/stop-n-rob call it the transformer from a robot cartoon of some years back. I have heard behemoth a couple of times from folks at work. I 'll be very happy however when I can call it Paid For!

My wife and I refer to mine as the "B.A.T.", i.e, the Big A$$ Truck!
Of course my previous ride was a Nissan extended cab. So relatively speaking...

Pat is a fitting name for the Sport Trac :D: ,but not the Av. Scorpion King or just King is more befitting the AV :B:

INteresting you mention the Scorpion King.

I bought the soundtrack the other day to play in the Av. Never used to listen to the heavy stuff prior to owning the Av. Hmmm.

Unflattering nicknames I've heard/read for the Avalanche include:

  • Crapalanche
  • Tuppertruck
  • Gagalanche

They just don't understand the :B:

>:DI have to go with truck, after my wife overloaded my wagon this weekend and i had to carry 50 landscaping stones that weighed 24 pounds a piece which equals out to about 1200 pounds and after i finally unloaded that back to home depot for 30 bags of top soil at 40 pounds a piece another 1200 pounds plus some mulch thrown in there. would not do that with an suv,,,,,,,,, took 3 hours to wash the beast out in the back and get all the little rocks and sand out.............NO LEAKS ;D
ZEEYA

I've yet to hear any nicknames refering to my Av...but my buddy has refered to it as the "Big white bully"or the "Great White Spike"....Hmmm. :B:

My wife christened ours "Applachey" - it sounds cute with a Russian accent! At first she hated it. I pulled rank and bought it anyhow and now she loves it and waves to any othes we see on the road! She still calls it 'coarse and rough' but likes those big soft heated seats up front. We visited a Caddylak lot yesterday and now she wants to replace her car with an Escalade EXT!!

The guys at the rifle range call my Victory Red 2500 Avalanche "The Pimpmobile." :D:

For now, it is the Red Warrior, but come the fall hunting season, it will probably have another name.

My wife and I usually harvest between four and six deer (good bucks all), a couple of whopper Montana antelope bucks, a pair of bull elk and sometimes a moose. After hauling in the game, the AV will properly be christened "The Blood Mobile."

For some unknown reason, when we had the Snugtop fitted, my wife started calling our AV "The War Wagon." By the way, she loves it.

The War Wagon is pretty cool! Great movie BTW.

My wife christened mine "The Bronze Behemoth"... seems fitting. As I used to have an Isuzu Amigo in almost the same color scheme, I just tell everyone that it's amazing what steroids will do!

On a positive note I have heard nothing but praise about the body style not to mention the ride, performance and handling of the AV. One coworker did stop me on the way into the office during the first week and told me that NASA had called and they wanted their truck back. I took that as a compliment.

At home it is simply the AV, Dad's truck or Avalanche :)

At work it has been referred to as "Moby Dick" the great white whale with an attitude.

It's amazing what folks come up with for these Av's.....nonetheless they are nothing short of awesome.. :B:

My wife calls mine 'The Big Ugly'. Now looking for new wife. Interested ladies should send pictures of your Av with list of mods.

My AV got nick named the " Thunder Tank "

From the Thunder Cats Cartoon in the '80's

I like it....seems to fit perfectly.
