Hello,

Love this site! Lots of encouragement! My wife hates you. Just kidding. Just thought I'd show off my AV. Had Northern 4X4 do all my work. They know their stuff for sure ;) I just picked the AV up last night after having them put on the body lift. My next expense will be new wheels and 37" tires. Today I officially became a member by installing the amber driving lights and making them full time. I also put in a pair of SilverStar bulbs. The GM engineer who designed the headlights is a genius. The quick removal of the headlight assembly was a snap. Please check out my AV on CarDomain.com and rate it. I thoroughly enjoy this sight. Sometimes it keeps me up all night ;D

sweet! hehe.. for the ambers, did u even have to bend over to get at them or did u just walk under the av and reach up? (y) (y) from me!

sweet setup. what's up with that 20" wheel/ tire combo you had on the AV before the lift? ;) btw, i went to CarDomain and gave you some cool points.

Very nice lift. ;D How much did the how kit cost, including shocks?

That sure looks nice (y)

Excellent Truck with some nice mods.

Some very nice pictures

And you should do a post on what mods you made to your throttle body.

LOOKS GREAT!!!

How long did it take them to put on the body lift?

Price ?

What is the biggest tire you can run with it?

Thanks,
Faver Buhler

I'm beginning to think that to AV owners "price" is a non-issue...

Why!!! you ask. Because the question is rarely answered. ;D

My Dad used to say, "If you have to ask, you can't afford it" "BUNK!!!", I'd say. Now I'm beginning to wonder if what he said is true.

Looks great...considering the body lift also. More pics would be great! It appears the body now resides over the tow hooks in front, and is the fenderwell liner missing in the rear? Would also like to know the price for labor on this mod. Thanks for any insight you could provide. Good luck with the 37's too...might have to either trim up front or get the Stealt bumper next. Can't wait to see it....Looks great so far!

looks awsome.... :::must resist urge to lift truck again..... must resist.... must..... :E: :::

Hi all!

Thanks for the replies. To answer your questions,

The daytime driving light mod was very easy to follow thanks to Chad's post. I was a little too tall to walk under the AV so I had one of Santa's helper switch the bulbs.

The 20's were sold when I bought the FabTech lift. Looking back, I should have kept them and ran 37's on those. That would have looked awesome!

The cost of all the mods are as follows:

20" wheels and tires(no longer have)--$1730
FabTech lift-$1400
Shock conversion for the front--$500
Steering stab--$95
installation for the above--$1200

3" body lift--$299
lift lips--$0(Ed at Northern threw them in)
running boards--$200
installation for the above--$600(10 shop hours total)

BFG ATR KO's LT315 75R17 tires--$900 (now for sale-about 1000 miles on them. tires still look new. Rims are for sale also. Ask about the great deal for the package)

Hypertech programer--$275
Dual straight exhaust--$250
K&N system--$225
instrument cluster--$64

gas cap cover--$100
decals--$79

Silverstars--$45
ambers$5

All the above does not include shipping to Alaska(that hurt too!)

Mods that are next:
F150 torsion bar keys
New wheels and 37" tires
SLP 1.85:1 rockers and springs
electric fans
throttle boday spacer
(any advice or experiences would be apprecited on the above)

I hope my wife does not see this thread :-*

The throttle body was removed and thoroughly cleaned. I polished the venturi and ground the screws on the shaft so they would not distort any air flow. I then modified the throttle stop that allows the throttle blade to open a full 90 degrees for increased airflow. I thought about bypassing the heat line but I figured I would freeze up in the winter time. This is a very easy mod if you are slightly mechanically inclined and have some spare time. You may want to get a new rubber throttle body gasket from the dealer before you start the task just in case. They are a solft blue rubber gasket. Have a 1/4" piece of copper tubing handy to bypass the TB heating line(about 3 or 4 inches ought to do).

I plan on putting 37" tires on when I get rich again(ha ha). I was told by Ed at Norther 4X4 that I'd have to trim a little. Nothing too noticable.

I hope this answered everyone's questions about my Urban Assault Vehicle. I was thinking of mounting a M60 in the back for pics. I'll try at the next maching gun shoot.

Great Looking Ride! You guys in Alaska make me jealous looking at all that great open country. Fabulous place! Enjoy the lift. What gears will you be running with the 37's?
DUKFVR75

Yes, AK is beautiful and spacious. I will go with a 456 gear ratio when I get the tires.

I also need to raise my exhaust since the body lift. It is just hanging out there. I will also clean up the rear fender wells. I pressure washed them and wiped them down with acetone before spraying on bed liner in a can. That really cleans them up. Since the body lift, you can see areas that were hidden by the body and didn't get sprayed. Every detail can make your ride look cleaner than the next guys ;)

Thanks to all who rate my AV on cardomain.com.

Thanks!
Mike.

Great pics! I love seeing it in the snow! What are silverstar lights? Is this a Cowboy fan thing? Does it project the silver star on the car in front of you? Can I get a "G" projection light? Hee Hee! Strong work buddy, Breedlove P.S. Where are those beautiful mountains at?

Maybe because really it's no one's business. Where I grew up (and the way I was brought up) you don't ask that question. Then I moved to TX and you hear it all the time. How much, what are your payments, etc. ??? :7:

My mistake...you are in God's country! Alaska....WoW!! Anyway does that can of bed liner help quiet down the noise from the outside? Breedlove

Hi Breedlove,

Unfortunately, I don't think it reduces and noise. I can't hear anything outside my dual exhaust anyway :2:

Silver Star lights are bulbs made by Sylvania that replace our headlights and fogs. they are a close resemblence to HID. kinda close. close. ??? a noticeable difference from stock. they also make amber bulbs for the DRLS as well.

foglights- PN 880st or 893st
headlights- PN 9006 low's & 9005 hi's
DRL - PN 3157na

they put out more light without the expensive price of HID. the ambers give off a blue hue when not on. looks cool through lense. when on they are amber.

Let me know the back spaceing on the new rims? And do they hit or did you have to cut the inner well??? Thank you
It does look great..

Glenn Enkei I wish I could have one that big in N.J. Avalanche

Glenn,

Actually, those are the stock rims. Fab-tech allows you to use your original rims in this case. I will get new rims hopefully soon. The back spacing will be 4 1/2"-4 5/8".
Does NJ have restrictions on vehicle heights?

Mike.

Man your AV is huge. I had to dislocate my neck to look up and talk to you the other night! I was a mile behind you when I spotted you. Your taillights were above all the cars....LOL sweet!
