Chevy recently announced its plans for a unique launch program involving the first 25 saleable Chevy SSRs known as the Signature Series; one of which, VIN #2, has been donated by General Motors to the SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) Foundation.

The SAE Foundation will auction the vehicle on eBay to benefit the Heinz C. Prechter Award for Automotive Excellence. The auction will take place over a 10-day period from April 25, 2003 to May 4, 2003. For more details about this donation, visit www.sae.org/foundation.

The winning bidder of the eBay auction will become the owner of the first SSR sold in 2003.
