Hey all,

I hate the gold on my leathers so I made a stencil to cut out some nice silver vinyl to put over it and it worked great. I was worried it might come off easily but, it's been on a week in 95+degree days >:D

The stencil may not be exact for all seats though. There seems to be a slight difference from seat to seat but not enough to make it look bad/wrong. You could use any color your heart desires but, I'd stay away from vinyls with a hard feel to them. I used chrome with my first test and although it stayed I didn't like the way it layed on the seat. Cheap and easy to do with a little patience (y)

Stencil is attached.

Really looks nice! No Gold left on my Black AV!!

PS When I get back to work Monday I think I'll twist one of our photographers arms into taking some pics with his digital for me.

Funny... the 1st thing my teenage daughter said when she saw my new truck was "that yellow thing look cheesy on those seats"!. After I told her to get out of my face before I tie her to my bumper :8: (kidding - sorta) I thought to myself that GM could've done a better job in that area.

Anyways, like your idea. I guess any material would work. What kind of adhesive did you use?

Very creative idea!

Carrerarod,

It's the same type of vinyl they use on the outside cladding logo. You should be able to pick up a small amount of the color you'd prefer from a local sign shop. I happen to use the stuff at work so..... >:D

I also cut out my own AV letters for the cladding in a Black Gloss we've have that matches the AV Onyx perfectly. Time consuming yes but worth the effort  It really looks good (y)

I thought the same thing as your daughter. Cheesy and more than that it didn't match the grey/black/chrome color scheme I'm going after. I no longer have any gold on my AV. In case you didn't see my post before I painted the gold bowtie on the wheels black also. The grill Bowtie looks incredible in Black :0: Especially after you insert a nice bright homemade Aluminum Grill >:D

PS half-breed the gold might not look to bad on the Tan but with the grey it was driving me crazy :8:

Jamie - It almmost looks like my AV's brother ?;)

Check out the grill I put on mine. It makes the black Bowtie stand out even more because it's sitting in a sea of Shiny Metal ?>:D

PS Nice truck but . . . I guess you would expect that from me ;)

I'm trying my best not to take these comments pesonally. ?;)

LOLOLOL >:D No slight intended :cautious:

The gold is fine when matched with certain colors but, not black/grey/chrome IMHO and if you can have matching Bowties for your color no matter what that might be well . . . .
 :B:
