VR3 wiring ?

I just purchased the VR3 wireless back up camera from Walmart. I been reading a lot of posts about this particular unit and was trying to find out some info on wiring the camera to the back up light. whats the best way to access the wiring to the back up light and which wires do I splice into?

If your talking the back?  If you have a trailor harness tap into the light green in thje back.

Just did this mod and I also have a 2003 w/cladding.

I used the ez splice connectors that came with the kit and connected them to the back-up light wires behind the drivers side tail light.  Red to green and black to black.

First, decide you mounting location for the camera.  I did that first, then fished the wiring following the path of the trailer harness connector, then up and along the wiring from the tail lights.  Following this path will prevent you from having the camera wire from potentially rubbing against any sharp sheet metal parts in the undercarriage.

Sorry about the quality of the pics.  Just went outside and snapped a couple.  Its raining and I had to rely on the flash.

Also, in the cab I didn't want to mess with the cubby, so I used the velco and attached it right below it.  Good location for me.  I tapped into the cigarette lighter wires for power using the hardwire connectors.

Open the tailgate.  Remove the two phillips head screws that secure the tail light.  Carefully pull the tail light toward the back.  Do not twist or turn it, pull straight back, otherwise you may snap the plastic connector pins.

I ran my wires the same place AVnHHR did. I am going to mount my monitor on the visor beside the mirror though. Like things looking as factory as possible when it comes to that sort of thing.
