Warranty Work At Purchase Location?

This may be a silly question but are we required to have the warranty work done at the dealership that the truck was purchased at? The dealership that I purchased my Av from is far from me and I would like to get the work done a a place that is much closer, since it seems that I will be going there quite often.

I had a Z71 av and put 12,000 miles on it and NEVER had a problem at all. It was a very early build as well as I bought it last August. Now I have a 2500 and it has all kinds of weird little defects. I love the power but now I'm thinking I should have stuck with the original Z71.

All Chevrolet Dealers will perform warranty work on your truck as written in the warranty booklet....

HTH

The good thing about GM is that you can also go to a Cadillac dealer to have your Av serviced. ;D
I made the mistake of going to the dealer with the best price. Since they damaged my Av during dealer prep, I could not be paid to take my vehicle there for service.
Oh, for those of you all near Sacramento, that was Family Chevrolet in Shingle Springs.
:8:
Opps, did I name names?? >:D

That's not what my local Cadillac dealer told me!!! I was having trouble with the Chevy dealer closest to my home and work so I called a Cadillac dealer near my office. They told me they would not do warranty work on the AV - I had to go to my Chevy dealer for that!

Anybody else want to chime in on this!!

Well, I just got off the phone with the Cadillac dealership right next door and they said NOPE! ?Only if I bought it from them as a used vehicle or if it were an emergency type of repair. ? She said that the dealerships are not allowed to do Cross Service for warranty repairs. ?But, I will be going to a closer, and hopefully nicer, dealer for the rest of my warranty work. ?Thanks guys.

Are we not supposed to mention dealer names on here? Because I would just love to warn everybody about John L. Sullivan Chevrolet in Roseville. They are your typical car dealer types that will tell you whatever it takes to get your money and then treat you like they derserve your business and you are lucky that they are even talking to you. I will NEVER buy another truck from John L. Sullivan Chevrolet in Roseville again. I think I will go back to Folsom Chevrolet next time as they were pretty nice even though the oil change guys do not return phone calls.

Well my chevy dealer is a caddy dealer >:D

SO they are used to doing work for the caddy owners which I guess has helped them in their customer relationship dept...

Found my perfect Av over 100 miles from home using GMBuypower . . . I plan to go much more locally if I need warranty service (so far no problems - except for a missing rubber bumper on the tailgate)

Wherever you go, meet the higher ups and get to know them. They're not nearly as stuffy as you might think and it sure comes in handy when there is a problem.
