Anyone know how to get water out of the fog/DRL assembly? I figure the only way is to remove the assembly and dry it out some how, but there may be other ways to do it.

Any help appreciated. I did a search on the site and couldn't find any mention of this problem.

I have some condensation in one of mine and my dealer says warranty will replace it....Just haven't taken it in yet. They shouldn't leak I assume.

Good luck!

Terry

I have had one of mine 3/4 full of muddy water and it seems to drain out OK after a couple of hours.

I also have condensation when it rains or I wash it - but being in CO it dries out very fast.

I haven't taken it to my dealer since I had an accident on that side of my AV, and I suspect the accident is part of the reason it fogs up. I know my mounting bracket for the light assembly is broken.

Talk to your dealer

Thanks Blueruck and Beast. I'll check with my dealer and hopefully they will honor the warranty.

The dealer replaced my left one and a month later the right one. :3: ?They should honor the warranty. ?They will probably try to see if there are any cracks. ?Most likely there are not.

Of course I have condensation again in my right one. :-[ ?What I do is take out the DRL and run the fog lamp. ?That will heat it up inside and the moisture will leave it.

Works so far. ?(y)

I had water in one of my fog lights. About 1". Was always there. I took a 1/16" drill bit, and drilled a hole in the bottom of the lens. Water drained out. Since then, we have had a lot of rain and there has been no further problems.

I did the same thing, i drilled a whole out on the bottom, but also it was all gone, I pu a small piece of tape over the hole and none has come back. I couldnt figure out how to remove the whole assembly, anyone know??

I had the same prob, dont mess with them, the dealer will repalce them!

if your still under warrenty of course!!

My passenger side fog light had water in it and I discovered after removing it from the vehicle there was a small crack in the upper corner of the lense cover. I put a little plastix glue on it and I put it back in. The removal and reinstall was a piece of cake. Just use common sense and you will figure it out.
