I have recently dried out my pad under my driver side front carpet. I checked for leaks and the water does not come from the midgate or the rear fender area. I would like to know more about where this water may be coming from. Please tell me all the possible locations at the driver side front along with details of how the leaks can be taken care of.

Thank you

seem to remember a thread about water coming from the wheelwell through this area...

available at Avalanche Accessories. i am not real positvie on this solution, but i think this is the one thing i read about to fix your problem. this was off the top of my head by the way.

I don't recall that hole in the fender, for which a member made that plug thingy, caused leaks. The member made the plug to keep mud out from between the fender plastic and the body and/or engine bay. Pretty sure that that hole is not a leak point.

Off the top of my head, I do recall leak sources of bad welds from the factory in the wheel wells (although this may have been rear wells?), and sunroof drains getting blocked (again maybe at back near midgate, but worth a search).

Good luck Lordvader :)

after i read a little more i seem to agree with you RichUF. i think it was tailored more for mud and sand. sorry Lordvader. :6:

I have to wait until it rains again to see exactly where the water maybe coming in. I know that the fender plug is only for mud and sand. I think I have spotted the problem area, but I will see when it rains and then update here.

Better to test with garden hose in daylight in lieu of a rainy day.......

Easier to test certain locations and also you canhave some doors open so one get look under dash etc etc...

DID YOU CHECK THE DOOR SEAL WHERE THE WIRES GO FROM THE CAB TO THE DOOR.

THAT WAS MY PROBLEM... DEALER MISSED IT 3 TIMES.

IT WAS HALF ON HALF OFF. ONCE I SEATED IT, BINGO- NO MORE WATER ..........
EMAIL ME IF YOU HAVE MORE QUESTIONS.

GOOD LUCK

Hi,
Congtats!!
How did you fix it, inquiring minds want to know?

Thank you,

I used a silicone windshield caulk to seal up the problem area.

I took pics, then by mistake deleted the pics in my camera before downloading. I will have to retake the pics of where the water was coming in.
