I saw a WBH Av at my dealer today. I was utterly dissapointed to see that the whole front end was pretty much a Silverado. The WBH AV has the Silverado Headlamp configuration. Headlamps above Running lights not like the AV with Running lights above Headlamps.

This vehicle is not truly just an Avalanche Without Body hardware. :(

I saw one also today a white Z66, I was dissapointed that they put the Silverado front clip on it, the lights just dont look the same. :D:
And the darker cladding really stood out. I have pictures of it in another thread, I will post the link when I find it again.

Oh, I don't know about that. Go around to the other end. With a 4x8 sheet of plywood.

I prefer the 02/cladded headlight config too. The bowtie slightly above center looks better than slightly below.

Yes it is very much like a Silverado crew cab but you are missing out on a couple of key points. First and foremost is overall length. The WBH AV is some 16 inches shorter than the shortest Silverado Crew making it much easier to fit in a standard garage. Secondly it is still built on the Suburban frame resulting in a better ride than the actual truck line. For one I love the Silverado and it the WBH is perfect for me because I prefer it to the cladded AV.

Anyway to each his own....I prefer the WBH but have nothing against the cladded AV. GM is just trying to put a vehicle together that can be marketed to more people.

You aren't the only one! There are many on this site, including me, who much prefer the WBH to the regular Av. It will be interesting to see what happens over the next year or so with Av sales of WBH versus the original.

I have a two week old WBH. I replaced a 2002 cladded AV. I can't count the amount of people who have told me this "naked" AV looks ALOT better than the cladded one. To each his own.

I like the WBH trust me but geez the controversy over the Av was about the cladding not the front clip. ?I wish that the WBH had the original Av front clip on it. ?That would make the WBH close to perfect in my mind. ?Also, why is "Avalanche" only labeled once on the whole vehicle and blended into the cladding ?????

This is just my opinion but even amber DRLs won't have as much significance on the WBH as the cladded Avs. ?When you see a cladded Av coming at you, you KNOW it's an Av. ?Then, with the WBH, you have to wonder: is it a WBH Av, Silverado and in '04 Tahoe, or a Suburban? ?Then once it passes, of course you'll know.

Don't get me wrong, I really do like the WBH as it adds great diversity and hopefully even more success to the Av lineup but I am really missing the original front clip of the Av including the low-riding DRLs.

Obviously there will be staunch supporters of either offering. However, considering the downward sales trends of the "conventional" AV, some diversity won't hurt. Personally, I am waiting for a new WBH to arrive any day. I can honestly say that after six straight Ford's, the naked AV enticed me to switch. Although, I will concede that the appeal wouldn't be quite as great without all of the mod's I'm doing.
