Does anyone know how much it should cost to add the wheel flare and mldg package to a WBH. The sticker shows $250,which is a deal. Gm Parts Direct lists the wheel flares at $125 for one axle. I have no idea how to find the door mouldings online. Has anyone added this to their WBH after purchase or struck a deal with the dealer before purchase. .......................................It's hard to find an AV just the way you want it without waiting :E:

Be prepared to pay $500-$750 (or more) for this stuff. $250 is if they put it on the truck in Detroit (or Mexico). Now it is in your hands and they have you by the short hairs.

As far as the Door moldings there are a few different options you can take. You can go with the suburban style and pay $55 per door or $220. There is also a another style, which I am getting, that is $40 per door which is a little smaller. As far as the Fender Flares you can pay around $500 for the factory ones, or you can get on ebay and buy mismatched color ones for $100 and another $100-200 to paint them the color you want. This is the method I'm taking.

..will try and get those part #'s soon as I wake up.

I have discovered from GM Parts Direct that looking under Surburban gives you more options for the flares.
There are 2 painted ones availabe. Sport Red and Birch Silver. They are the same price as the black grained ones. $128.80. I first thought this was for a pair.but now think this is for one. They are not marked Rt or Lt. but this may be because Rt and Lt are the same. How could that be? Symetrical? Help me out, anramsey.

I almost made the same decision as I found an Av I liked, except no molding package. Dealer wanted over $600 just for the parts. Anyway kept looking and found one with the package for just the $250. Really think this package is a must for the wbh otherwise the wheel arches and doors are very exposed, plus just too bland without it.
Had to replace one flare that I scraped up and through my connection at a body shop it still was about $120 for one rear one.

I'm getting the flares from the dealer for $185 per pair. These are the unpainted black flares that match the cladding. I just ordered them today, so they should be here later next week.

I have the GMC moldings from Factory Customs. They look great on the WBH. The standard GM body molding look a lilttle clunky IMHO.

Ratfink...also another great option is E-bay, ther are always Avalanche / Suburban flares for sale there. And alot you can just buy outright instead of bidding. (not my thing) thats where is got my flares and I got them painted to match.

Bought the Sport Red WBH without the flares, split the cost of the PCY and had it rolled into the financed total.Cost me around $320 extra.
Now I wait for the parts to come in. I guess I did OK considering locating a loaded WBH with 4.10's is hard around here. As you may know, most were delivered with 3.73's......CAFE I guess. :cautious:

Man those shipping prices are CRAZY at GM parts direct. $110 for shipping? For a few bucks more, you can get paint matched ones on ebay ready to install. You can save $80 by getting the unpainted black ones. Look up "Avalanche Flairs."

I thought you had made a mistake. WOW , how can they charge shipping on each piece? I'm sure they are not putting them in seperate boxes, right? Anyway, I got my pieces put on at the dealer where I had the cost rolled into the purchase price. It really completes the look of the WBH. :cool:A totally naked AV just doesn't look right to me. :B:

Got my flares and moulding put on this week. Gave the WBH totally naked a new look......... AND I LIKE IT..... The black and silver pin stripe doesn't show up in the picture, but really looks good.Nowfor some tires and wheels.

I agree that the wbh is to naked. I want the flairs, not sure about the moldings. I know the fender flairs are easy to mount what about the moldings, whats involved in mounting them.

The moldings have 2 lines of 3m tape and are really easy to put on. I just got my molding/flaps put on earlier in the week..will post an updated pic shortly. The main thing is to make sure that they are level as that 3m tape is pretty stout stuff

Yeah, I still like the mouldings and flares. Although now I realize that there are a number of different styles of mouldings that were used on the Suburban that would fit and look good on the WBH AV. Also, I added the Z71 emblem from the Tahoe ($12) to the front of the black moulding. Looks good and could pass for factory. (y)

RedRyder,

I just bought a 2005 Metallic Orange Avalanche (love it btw!). You wouldn't happen to know the part numbers for the wheel flares and door guards for that color, would you? The dealership was clueless...

BTW - I know they make 'em in orange, because I saw them on an orange silverado the other day...

Thanks,

- SpyHunter

There is a (maybe more) Chevy dealer who advertises on this site and gives a pretty healthy discount to members, I'll bet they would know:

http://www.delillo.com/site/index.php

BTW - I found this site where they'll paint them to match my AV paint (Sunburst Orange II Metallic).

Anybody know if these guys are reputable?

Thanks,

- SpyHunter
