Been a long time in coming. Thank you everyone for the advise, support and encouragement.

Today, my wife and I are picking up a brand new 1500 Z71. :love: :love: :love:

Congrats! Your first act should be driving to the local Auto Zone, Pep Boys, Schucks, or what ever and getting a set of 4157 NALL in amber and 899 replacement fog lamps. >:D

Then you've done your first mod for under $20 (and the Amber DRL's look very cool).

PDX, Congrats on the Avalanche buy I hope to meet you some time I live in La Grande, OR 4 hours from Portland, OR. Are you going to the Wild West Cruise?
 
It is a Pewter Z71. I didn't know that the Pewter is the only one with the red Z71 stickers.

This club really helped out in the whole process. I know what to look for, what to make sure it was equipt with and helped get my wife sold on the idea (the group gatherings really helped)

Just gotta love that new car smell.

The first mod will have to wait.. this morning we are taking it to a company picnic. I am curious to see if we are asked to make change for a buck. I will bring the cam to get some digital pics to post.

Last night, on the way home we stopped off at a little restaurant. I watched out the window, throughout the whole meal, as people coming and going from the placewould walk up and around the AV. One guy even pointed out things to another couple that came by.

We can't make the Wild West Cruise this time. We are helping my folks move out here and build their house. When is the Portland to Vancouver BC tour? ;)
 
The 4.10's are the way to go if you can get them nice choice I pick mine up this week also with 4.10's
 
Congrats on your AV!!!!! Mine is also a 4.10..only Black.
Pewter was my second choice.. Don't need much mod...Mine came with factory Brush Guard...looks like it is ready to chomp something..only things I have added are Bug Deflector and Vent Visors (a must)
 
Good choice on your Av purchase. May the mods begin. You will love this truck.

At the risk of appearing stupider than I look.. Why is the 4:10 the way to go? I just picked up a new Av (forest Green Metalicy) yesterday and when I looked at the sticker I noticed that it had the 4:10 rear :B: :B: :B:

Do a search back to about 60 days. It's basically a matter of preference and opinion. I believe the 4.10 is better for power/towing, and probably a little better acceleration - at a cost of efficiency/mpg.
