Hey All,

Well I got gutsy this weekend and did some mods to my AV.
I put the front bushings in on the sway bar. ;D I still cannot seem to locate the bushing for the back sway bar. :6: I know the bar is 1 1/8 and I have a PN of 9.5164R from Energy Suspensions but I cannot seem to locate the parts. Even Summit Racing does not have them. :6: I also need to know the size of the bushing that get pressed into the arms (circular one)

OK Mod 2 was to put the billet knobs on. Love the look. (y)
Then I relocated my rear backup fog lights to be mount in the bumper not under the bumper. It took some time for me to get the guts up to cut into the bumper :2: but as it was plastic I over came that fear. I am going to try to post a finish picture if you want to know what was involved in this mod let me know.

I also put in a 12V plug in the bed. ;D Busy weekend for me?
Oh Ya yellow DRLs added too.

Here is another picture of the lights when off

What I did was get a "SCUPPER" cover from the local boating suply store. It was white so I painted it the body color and clear coated it. I would have gone with chrome but could not find any.

I then chose a location. Where I put them there was plenty of room and a place to mount the lights to the bumper behind the plastic. I also used stainless screws. Dont want any nasty rust spots on my truck ?;D

If anyone wants more details let me know. I have other pictures

We did some weekend mods to the AV today...

First Easy Mod For the Club ;):

Second Easy Mod: Covered up those ugly warning decals on the visor
visordecal1.jpg

Third Mod:
Maglight Mounted on the Driverside Rear Compartment Lid...No Pic necessary ;)

Fourth Mod:
We relocated our DVD player and mounted it into the front center console because it got tiresome having to reach under the rear back seat to switch disks. Now its a piece of cake!
...and the console can be up and the seat occupied and it doesn't affect the dvd playback...

Really easy access now...

All Closed Up nice and tidy...

Very cool. NIce to see the pictures.

I plan on doing the constant on DRLs next week when I am on vaca and a few others. :B: ;D

This maybe a silly question, but why are you installing fog lights in the rear? Well at least NON RED ONES...
Is this not illegal?
I know in europe all vehicles come equipped with rear fog lights.. but they are red. Very rare in north america..
There are a few cars over here that have them... mostly european, but I know the Oldsmobile Aurora has them as there are 2 mounted in the rear bumper.
I haven't ordered my AV yet, early next year... But l will be installing rear fog lights in the rear but red ones.
Also, they will look factory installed as I will be modifying the taillight circuitry to do this.
I presently have 1 rear fog light installed on my 95 Chev 1/2 pickup and my wifes 98 TransSport Montana.
What I did was enable the higher wattage filament on the red light that was not being used... On the pickup it was the upper light... the bulb was on only for driving lights, the lower red light used both filaments, one for the driving light, the other was for turn and brake light. On the TransSport it was the opposite, the top red light had both the driving light and the brake light, while the lower one was only using the driving light.
Back to the AV... I plan on installing the fog light switch in the empty compartment below the vent controls. In fact I will probably be installing the fog light switch ( part no. 15729517 ) and the auxiliary light switch ( part no. 15722980 ) there. I will modify the left turn signal circuit to enable my fog light...( leave left turn signal on contanstly to act as rear fog light ), but the trick will be to have the fog light circuit momentarily disabled while the left turn signal is activated.... should be no problem, but I will need the the shop manuals to determine the hookup..... Have not ordered this yet either... I also plan on the right turn signal being modified, but with a twist, it will only come on when both the fog light switch and the auxiliary switch are both activated..

Wow that is a great mod. I was planning on doing this too. I had an ML320 before I got my AV. and I did like that option. I was not sure how to add the rear foglight and was thinking of adding another light into the back left housing.

I like your idea better. When you work it out let me know I would love to do that.

As for your orginal question...

I added white lights that come on when I go in reverse for more light backing up. I ado have an aux switch that allows me to turn them on when I want to. I use them for when I am trailering or setting up camp etc. They light up the area nicely. >:D

I have mine hooked up like corvettejoe.
They come on with the switch and when put into reverse. I love them. They provide a lot more light than those cheesey reverse lights in the taillight housings.
