Got the call from the dealership this morning. My new AV is scheduled to be completed on or about Feb 9, with delivery one week after completion :D

Now all I have to do is wait...

Congratulations on your new baby ;) I will have to come to the Memphis meet and not only break in your new coordinator but also get pics of your new AV ;) plus this post brings me closer to something - right now I'm not sure what or if it will change tomorrow :cautious:

What exactly have you ordered? ?What options?

Contrats! ?(y)

I'm afraid I didn't order anything very fancy, due to the bucks involved :cautious:. It's Arrival Blue, and got the Z66 option, with hiback buckets/Bose, step boards, trailering pkg.

I doubt there will be much "modding" done here :-[. The only thing I would really like to add would be a K&N filter and a Magnaflow muffler, BUT......wife would most likely kill me if I mention the exhaust :C:. Went through that with a 95 Tahoe I had. Added a Flowmaster w/dual outlets to that one, and she wasn't pleased with the noise. However, I'm going to work on it. >:D

First off let me congratulate you on your new Avalanche..don't worry about option packages..it's an Av and that's all that matters....beauty is in the eye of the beholder...

I also at one point suffered from the wife woe's....until I started to get her more involved, and while she is not excatly ready to debate backpressure and maintenance schedules with me...she is a lot more open to mods and accessories....as a matter of fact there is a new Headunit waiting for me..for Valentines Day.....

There are a ton of other things to consider that do not involve much $$$. Amber DRL's, Full Time DRL's, Xenon headlights (ebay for about $10) all 4 headlights on at once, mag lite mod, CAFCNA decal, etc.

Congrats on the New Addition to the Family. You bought an Avy, the fun part is adding all the bells and whistles later.
Don't worry about the mod $$$$. There's tons of things you can do that don't cost much.
You've already done the biggest mod, buying the Avalanche. The fun part is enjoying it.

Congrats jdw174 on your new 03' Arrival Blue Z66. Save some money for some Modding.

May your gas tank always be FULL!!!!!

I'm just hoping that I can get as good a mileage out of this one as I get out of what I'm trading  The 99 Tahoe I'm swapping gets 15.5 around town and almost 20 highway. From what I'm reading there aren't too many AV owners matching that, but we'll see.

Congrats JDW!

I don't think you'll be much off that in mpg.

I average about 16.5 with the few performance mods that I have done. So 15.5 on a stock Av should be pretty close.
Now 20 highway is pushing it a little bit... :p

I usually get right around 16.5 with no performance mods. 17.2 is my best so far.

I'm not too big of a lead foot.....pretty much stick to the speed limits.

Congrats & Enjoy.

Best of luck getting your wife to agree with you on the"noise" from the muffler. ?:) (my wife still does not agree with me on loud exhaust systems). :(

1busboy, you might want to show her the Magnaflow website and the decibel readings there. It would appear that the Magnaflow only reads 1-2 decibels higher than stock. I'll try that argument with her >:D

jdw174,

Congradulations on your new "baby", I had the same problem getting the Magnaflow by my wife. Now that it's on, she likes it. It's really only noticable while under acceleration. Not loud, just a hint of perk.
