With all that's happened w/ us lately... we've decided it would be best for us to do a little down sizing.  For the last few weeks since the fire, my family knew we were considering doing this.  My brother has a friend/co worker at the nuclear power plant where he works in arizona that was interested in buying our Av.  It looks like his loan is going to go through.  Shipping won't be too bad and he's willing to pay for it (thankfully, lol).

We've been scoping out '07's and we think we may pull the trigger on one.  it'll lower our payments by over $200 a month, insurance will go down and THANKFULLY fuel economy will go up... BY DOUBLE !  We'll know w/in the next couple of days if we're actually going to go through with this but right now, our current Av is more eye candy than it is practical.  The nice thing is, w/ the timing we've set this up at, we'll actually be able to skip out on TWO payments making getting stuff for our home a lot easier as well.

Here's the one we're considering:

GO FOR IT!? :B:

it's scary and hubby is really bummed about having to give up his Av... that is totally his baby... but we've built the last one up to where it was so i know we can do it again...  it'll just take some time.  he does agree though that financially it just makes sense right now...

FRESH MEAT FOR MODDING..!!!!!
Yes he maybe bummed, but once he starts modding it will get better.. ?

was it a 4x4? and does it have the rear locker?

2 important things living in area that has bad weather.

it's a 2wd but i normally take the car back and forth to work so that wasn't a huge factor in getting a 2wd.  as for off roading, although we had a monster truck, it has almost always been a pavement princess...  after all the pennies we put into that ride, we were always too worried about seriously busting something.  thankfully it's not like we live in an area that gets like 6 ft of snow or anything TOO extreme (hopefully)... if it did end up being too much w/out 4x4, we'll just slap a Z71 sticker on the side and hope that does the trick >:D

omg... he's already planning when he can hook up w/ a bunch of u guys to come up w/ ideas for it...  we are gonna strip off a lot of the extra mods.  my brother's coworker doesn't know about the lights and as for the air horn, he said he didn't care either way.  he just mainly wants the lift and the 3/4 ton more than "that frilly stuff" as he called it...  more of a "good ol' boy" in his late 50's... i mentioned the Av club and he just said "Oh, that's nice" then he went on to ask more about the vehicles towing capacities, etc.  he just didn't seem too interested :( :( :(

sounds like when OV left his baby go, the guy was the same way..

But But it's 2500 NOOOOOOOO

Fox, you and Wolf should know do what ya have to do  I'm in Louisiana September 22. I would like to see you guy's again.

Hope everything works out for you.

As you can tell, I changed what I had writen earlier.

With the locker and 2wd you can go many places that a 2wd without it can't go and do. Snow is one of them, throw some wood in the back and your set.
Somewhere there was a test / demo for GM ?that used a 2wd AV with the locker and its competition using 4wd. Want to guess who won??
It wasn't an extreme offroad rally or the like, it was for pulling / towing and snow / mud. Stuff that the avg truck ownere uses his truck for.

*I know that went off track there, but when my brain desides to show up, I use it.... ? (y) ?and of course it shows up as I am going to bed.

Hope all is well... and hopefully will see you all soon (Oct)

It hurts to leave the 2500 nation but hoestly we never use it except when we made the trip out here. When we did have a travel coach it was something the 1500 before it was able to handle.

Living out in the "booneys" like we do and it being all highways mileage went up to 12 from the 10 i was getting in CA but when everything major is 40-60 miles away it is killing us fuel wise and having the option of getting nearly double that is a huge plus.

I would have perfered getting a 4 wheel drive but the only option was Red and Orange neither are our favorites and with this one atleast having a locker that will help. Getting a Av from another dealer other than the one she just started at just is not an option. I have seen these trucks do some amazing things in 2 wheel drive.

I do really feel this is the best choice not only in the short term but in the long term. Hopefully selling the current Av will continue to look promising as it does now. And maybe JohnB can show me where to drill the lights for my strobe to go in :p

But no cladding  :needhug:

i know? :( but the alt is not an Av which as much as the av and when it has done for our family ..... it really is the only vehicle for our family for safety and functionality

Oh the 07  is good end of story

Great Truck stay in the family (y)

Oh, but it is NOT the end of story, merely the beginning of another new chapter...

yah chapter 5 for us ?

Things that are coming off the 05 that will be installed

Main Strobes
Airhorn
Interior glow
Underbody glow
CB
Uniden Scanner
KN filter
Engine glow and strobe
Sail panel lights
mag light mod
disco lights
rear window release lighting

Really wish I had the stock steering wheel to swap that out as he didnt not like but did make mention if I could find a stock one he would rather have that on there.

Sure there are a few other things I am not thinking of right now. Trying to not get ahead of myself as it is not an absolute as of yet.
