Nicole and I made it home from SD at about 11:30 pm MDT.  However the Av did not... she's waiting outside the Chevy dealer in Douglas, WY.

:needhug:

We headed home after the breakfast at the Millstone and decided to swing up by Devils Tower on the way since we slept in that day we were scheduled to head up that way.  Anyhow we got there snapped our photos and got back on the road.  We stopped and filled up in Gillete and got some lunch and then headed straight down state highway 59 from Gillete to Douglas and about forty miles out she sputtered a few times and died.  By the time we got into Douglas all the auto parts stores and the dealer were closed.  So with help from relatives and friends we made it the rest of the way home to Denver without having to spend money for a rental car or hotel.

I think it may be the fuel filter... so does anyone know were the fuel filter is on an '03 AV?  I don't know if I can get back up there tomorrow to change it out and get my AV home but I can't imagine not having it for a week until I can get back up to pick it up!

:help:

Ok now I'm ticked... it better not be the fuel filter because IT was supposedly replaced when I had my 60K service last month.

Yeah I was hoping it was just the fuel filter... but I'm leaning towards the fuel pump too... guess I'm gettting the most out of my extended warranty.? New cluster last month... new fuel pump this month.

ya, the filter shoud be inside the frame rail under the driver seat..... but I suspect pump also.........

Heya Chuck,

Been a long time eh?        Sorry to hear about your AV,      been there myself except my AV would start again 10 minutes later and then die again 20 minutes later,    only happened when i was in Colo and over 90 degrees,    turns out my fuel pump had a design defect that only affected early 04 2500's, fuel was vapor lockin within the pump due to the high altitude and heat.                  Your problem sounds different,  but i bet it's either the pump or pump relay,    wish ya the best of luck.

                            Hope we meet again someday.
                                                                                      Mike

 That sucks, Hope they get it fixed soon and keep us posted.

Sam

Thanks for all the well wishes... I wish we were the only ones with problems.  We were lucky to be close enough to call relatives and get the rest of the way home.

Thought I'd post a few pics... get a sick feeling looking at the Av on a tow truck though.  :9:

UPDATE:

Just talked to the service guy at Douglas Motors (big surprise in Douglas, WY!) and told him what happened.  He said they would try to get it looked at today but that he was short a guy and thought it might be bad gas.  Sounds like they'll make it easy for me to pick up after hours if I have to drive up after work to try to get my AV.  (y)
