Western Regional Meet Itinerary

Silverton is not a bad meeting spot. There is a giant sign visible from the Interstate. It's right off the freeway and people have a choice for food. The casino coffee shop, buffet, or across the street in the shopping center, Burger King, Shabo(sp? Italian), Chinese, etc... The truck stop has gas (not quite the cheapest in town though). There are also several gas stations near the mall along with mini markets.

That casino is not that popular so there is usually plenty of parking. We would need to identify a portion of the parking lot where people can find us. Take a few pics if you have a chance.

I recall a section behind the casino along the flood channel that was usually empty and was visible from the road entering the casino parking lot. It had flash flood warning signs posted so most people stayed away from there. >:D

If we are tight on time and want to get closer into town, there is also an In N Out burger right off tropicana, about a 1/4 mile west of I 15. ... only negatives: parking can get tight and In N Out is never fast.

CA_Hiker et al.

Keep in mind of the time change from Nevada to Utah, not a big deal, but don't forget about that.

You lose an hour to utah but gain it heading back to vegas.

Our honeymoon was basically the opposite route that you folks panned out.

Have a great time, wish we could join you, it is beautiful.
