? 6-Disk changer - this is where Ford seems to have an edge over GM. Nearly every Expedition on my ex-dealer's lot had a factory 6-disk setup with cassette in the dash.

I think the AV will soon come with a electric rear window that will slide down into the midgate.
I think the Z71 should have a brush/push bar as part of the Z71 option. My bumper took a small hit and is already cracked.
A trip meter would be nice..
Better areo on the front end - you should see the pits in my windshield and the nice 14" crack. CO is very hard on winshields during the winter, so I am not sure Chevy can do anything about this....

It would be nice if the Z-71 (offroad version?) was a little more rugged as far as dragging the trailer plug, tearing the rear bumper cladding etc. It might just take a different rear bumper to stand a little more abuse.
I also like the idea of the six cd changer. I think I saw somewhere this was already in the plans.
One more thing, let the Av have the 6.0 L engine as an option.

This is impossible in the way the Av is designed. In order to have the window go down into the midgate AND properly seal when closed it would have to slide into tracks at some point. With the midgate opening and closing that would be quite the technical feat to accomplish. Others have talked about this here - you can't have your cake and eat it to. Have to admit that with a child seat in the back taking out the rear window is a PIA - but the extra two minutes to remove and replace the seat are worth it on the bright sunny days (now if it would just warm up 5 or 10 more degrees)

I found that it's possible to lean the seat backs forward enough to stow the back window without flipping up the seat bottoms. Takes 2 people though.
1) Reach under the rear seats and locate the unlock cables.
2) Give them a good pull while pulling forward on the seat backs.
3) Release cables, hold seats forward with your elbow.
4) Release, remove, and stow window.
5) Allow seat backs to lay back.
Like I said, it's possible.
I'm still considering the Clip The Cable And Add A Pulltab modification. I know it'll work, but that cable's pretty darn short.
I'm pretty sure there'd still be a reflection. The angle of the window itself would have to be changed.
I may be missing something, but is the dash light dimmer wheel not what you're looking for?
I wish mine had:
GPS System
LCD Screen for the GPS and the Radio
Better speakers than the cheesy stock ones
Remote lock for the toolboxes and tailgate.

In no specific order...
Cargo light pin switch on tailgate (easy to add, but it should be standard)
electric tailgate lock
Wider fender wells to accomodate larger tires w/o a lift.
Skid plate under gas tank
move trailer wiring plug
trans temp gauge on all models.
CD changer.

My priorities would be:
1: Open up wheel wells so that it has plenty of clearance for chains on all four wheels. I about died when I read that the chains shouldn't be used on half-tons and on the only on the rear of 2500s. What in the Hell were the designers thinking?
2: Level the Avalanche. Up in the front, for more clearance. Would look much better and would add to rear visibility. Kinda looks like it is getting ready for an enema right now.
3: Factory receiver hitch in the front.
4: Block heater standard.
5: Improve rear visibility and add rear sensors as a standard item.
6: Trailer witing in the rear bumper, not hanging down for us to scrape off.
7: Pin switch in the tail gate for cargo lights.
8: Rhinohide on bed floor instead of the heavy too-tacky rubber mat (that is a condenstion magnet).
9: General lift of about two inches.
Don't get me wrong, I love my AV, but some of these things are obvious design errors.

1. Wish I had gotten the factory side steps. 2 and 4 yr old have a hard time getting in, no problem getting out, they just jump.2. Better stereo, although the factory unit will play my mp3 cd-r disks. Cool.
3. Power folding side mirrors. My wife nearly shaved the passenger side off on the tollway, I forgot to fold the driverside in while pulling in the garage and gave it a good scratch.
4. 6.0L. My 93 notchback Mustang 5.0L is another great example of a vehicle that can allways use a litte more help in the motivation dept.
Overall, I think this is one of the best thought out vehicles ever to come from an American manufacturer.

It does not mention anything about MP3's in the AV manual.
Dark Eye, I've tried several different brands of disks and finally found that Memorex Gold or Colors is about the best. The factory will not guarantee that a CD-R will work so they dont mention it, but every 2002 that I've been in seems to work just fine, my neighbors 2002 Monte Carlo, my buddies 2002 Victory Red AV, mom's 2002 Silverado.
I've many of the usual wishes:
> power tailgate lock
> aux switch(es) for cargo lamps (but I disagree on tailgate pinswitch, think wireless)
> trip computer, overhead in spite of s/r
> CD changer
And some less common:
> bed mat that doesn't 1) trap moisture 2) have adhesive surface 3) weigh a ton
> quadrasteer--if I didn't care about operating in dense urban environs I would have bought a crew cab long bed
And some exclusive to my dementia:
> rear storage compartments accessed from the sides like a utility box
> unrestricted 50" wide load height up to the sail bridge--IOW, those gutters gotta go and the panel tabs have to be recessed
> less obtrusive sun visors
