this is going to an off the wall question. what is going to be the best exhaust for growl, loudness and offend a few people along the way. i am not looking to go to the pokey but i love the growl that a good sounding exhaust has.

i have a flowmaster force 2 system and i HATE IT!! i also have k&n intake, msd msd wires ect... the exhaust sounds like a honda with the back pressure. i need a clue :) help...

i just joined the group and i am glad i did!!! i am getting so many ideas and i am enjoying all of the posts . i know there are pros out here, if anyone can help i am open :) thanks, kyle :B:

One of the best people to ask is Muffman or 11h. Good luck with everything and welcome to the club.

you could always do what my friend did with his 2001 Firebird Formula. get borla y pipe exhaust then hollow out your cats for one of the most offensive and the loudest (i think) sound you can make. but it is still one of the best sounds i have heard. especially when he really gets on it

I've heard some members praise the sound of the Corsa. You can go to www.corsaperf.com for more info.

Good luck with your search.

My rear when I eat White Castle cheese burgers. LOL

I am running a 3 inch Flowmaster 40 series with hollowed out cats...most people find that pretty offensive. I have thought about twin glasspacks but am afraid of getting backfiring when going down hills.

Four inch in and out Flowmaster race mufflers are guarenteed to offend. You could add a block plate Y pipe with remote open and really get offensive.

Corsa is GREAT , BUT- it is more of a refined sounding exhaust- if there is such a thing.
I ahve the Corsa Performance Sport System- (789.00) cat-back.
Nice soft rumble at idle, good sound on take off adn at WOT it howls, but for general driving around town- it gets looks at sounding great but NOT offensive UNLESS your in it hard?
Just my real life experience-
Pricey compared to other systems too!

Good luck,
Watch out for the local LEO's as here in Ohio they like to question a good thing (loud Exhaust) as I have cited folks for it being too loud-

Your Corsa, Gibson adn other off the shelf systems are legal- it is the open headers, ot cut outs that are going to get you un needed attention adn tickets-

LEgalities of offending ppl with your exhaust ????
Litterally you can be cited for noise code violations- same with Stereo gear as well-
If I can hear a Stereo from greater than 50 ft away- it is a 250 dollar fine in our city. Usually we give a warning adn let it go at that-
Same for Exhaust. If after pulling a vehicle over for a potential noise violation (OR a complaint from a resident, usually older type neighbor complaining) adn inspection reveals that it is AN aftermarket system- not to code (not many cops could tell you thought) you can be cited for fauly exhaust, loud exhaust or even worse disturbing the peace?
The ORC- Ohio Revised Code ahs a chapter alone on this matter (automotive noises) ect, ect.
Not too many Exhaust calls BUT the Stereo violations are common deals-

Flowmaster 40 series 3" inch in/out. Have it and turn heads especially when I get on it. Ive made car alarms go off with just passsing by on a side street. Also have shut up my share of mustangs, camaros, vettes and even a viper shut up with just a couple of revs. Obnoxious no, attention getter yes.

Let me tell you! The Corsa sounds so cool when you punch it (floor it); sometimes I drive around with the Radio or CD off just to hear it growl. Because my Av sounds more like a Z/28 Camaro than the real ones did..... :B:

You know the saying "if they can't take a joke... well F**k e'm!"

Yakmar...Glasspacks are long, skinny hollow mufflers that just have a thin layer of fiberglas glued to the inside of the pipe. Just a slightly milder version of straight pipes and I am not sure but my guess is that they cause backfiring because there is zero restriction and no backpressure. They are extremelely loud...really gets some attention.

You got that right >:D, But (no punn intended) you wantted me to prime you first... And what did I tell you???

You needed to get those PIMPLES cleared up first.  >:D >:D

HMMMMM, Lets see now "what exhaust will growl and offend?"

ouch..., now for something that is actually do-able,
you want it, ok here it goes

Set of good drag headers, short extention pipe from headers to cats (balance out the pipes so both side are equal if you need to route around something), cats, and then race mufflers these are all set up on 4" pipe and the muffler port is 5"

All legal (ok as far as emissions go anyway) but that is one hell of a set up >:D believe me. Ideally though you don't want the cats just headers/shortest lenght of pipe connected right to the muffs.
And by the way your girlfriend/wife will love sitting in the there  , hell you may love it too.

Another one, switch the headers (right to left/left to right) put them upside down, bolt them down then an add some curved pipe and angle them outwards... (may want to remove hood-- or buy mid 80s firebird) lol...
Serously though, a 3/4ton av with some 40 series will wake up your nieghbours at idle. lol..
