What Is Device Behind Grill

I took off my grille to install lights behind it and found this little device with wires going to it. it kind of looked like one of those deer whistle thing except with wires. anybody have a clue? I did a search for this but couldn't find anything.

Sounds like exterior temperature sending unit for your rearview mirror..... Search for that it may help.

I've got this big chunk of iron behind my grill - get hot and uses lots of gas. I've thought about removing it, but the dealer said it was normal.
