what's the diff in the 2003 AV 1500 and the 2500 ?
also is it worth it to get the On star and xm radio?

Biggest difference I felt between the Z71 and my 2500 is the shocks. I do not care about skid plates, or a sticker, but the shcoks are much firmer on the Z71. My truck does feel like it is riding on clouds (my two little ones go to sleep in no time)...

I believe the 2500 and Z71 have similar if not identical Bilstien shocks. ? The 2500 has an extra 1,000lbs and that gives it a different ride.

I have the Bose sound system with 6 CD changer and XM radio. Bought my Av on 3/14/03 and have NOT had a CD in it yet. I absolutely LOVE the XM !!! OnStar I don't have and do not know about .

Don't know for sure about the shocks, but it is coils vs. leaf springs. Never ridden in a 2500, but I understand the ride is similar to the 1500, maybe a little stiffer.

Options that can be had are generally the same I think, it's just whether you want/need the extra HP/torque, towing/hauling capacity, and the substantially lower gas mileage that comes with it. Wheels will be different, too.
