I'm going to get a Pioneer Avic Z2 and I want the back up camera option.

What kind/brand of camera did you buy to use with your display?

FYI.. I sell cameras seperately. Work great with your Z1/Z2

Tailgate cams:

Hitch mounts:

With Hitch:

Without Hitch:

And the plain cameras themselves.

Special deals for CAFCNA members.

Thanks for the info.

Other than about $250+ dollars, what is the differance between your $275 camera and others on ebay like this one which looks like yours?

What is the CAFCNA member price for just the camera?

My Avic Z2 arrives Thursday and I need a camera

I am in the same boat Sirshopolot...  looking for a backup cam for my Kenwood DDX6019.  I like how the Cubby Cam mounts up to the hitch, but I haven't seen what other mounting options are out there.

From what I've heard & seen, the best spot for us is in the tailgate handle bezel.

Gives the best view.

I'd rather not go through that with my painted cladding, plus I'd like it to be hidden pretty well.

I'd definitely go for the Cubby Cam, but it's out of my price range for sure.  I am thinking $100 max.

I hear ya there!!

Depends on what camera you want. However, I can tell you right now that my price is nothing like the $50 cameras on ebay. The cameras may look the same, but can tell you that are NOT the same.

I went through 23 cameras to pick the ones I use. You get what you pay for. I still (after doing this for almost 3 years) get emails from people saying how great the low-light sensitivity is. That is because the camera is a high-quality unit.

If you want special CAFCNA pricing, PM me and I'll work up a deal for you. But again, it will not be $50 like on eBAY.

I just found a Bose cam on close out, drilled the "-" out on my tag and stuck it in there. I siliconed the plastic tag cover over the tag and it's been great. Mine even has a little mic so I can hear people behind me when the trucks off...only exhaust when it's running.

I think I paid $75 for it but I can look it up later if you're interested.

that is awesome! That is the best mount I have seen yet!

I went with one of the first camera systems made for the AV... SnakeEyes.  I didn't use the entire system only the camera.  I had a separate Alpine monitor mounted just above the rear-view mirror in the compartment near the lamp switch.  Take a look at my side below for pics.

I'm liking teksavy's cam!

PM him about club price.  (y)

Some things to keep in mind when shopping for cams.

Degree of view - mine are 130-150 degrees
Light Sensitivity - mine are 1 lux and below
Gain - Very important for auto applications - see at night and during the day
Warranty - Make sure people stay behind it. Ask people on this board- I stand behind what I sell.

That's a neat mounting macalanche and audio, now that's ultra cool!? (y)

Thanks, it was truly dumb luck and laziness. I just came across the cam on-line and didn't want to take my midgate all apart. It ended up taking no time to install and I had to run a wire from my h/u so a second for the audio was no more work.

Oh, I guess I didn't tell you about the plexi-glass tailgate/midgate cam mod I did. It's very "special".

Don't you have a reverse cam option on your Kenwood? I would just get a cam and wire it into that thing and not mess with the cubby cam. Cheaper and easy to do, hell call up the shop and tell them to pull the rca wires out and zip tie them under your dash so you can add it at your leasure.

I do have a dedicated input for a camera...  and I do plan on adding it somewhere down the line.

Just gotta find a good enough camera cheap!

I got mine from my good buddy ChevyFan Germany, Don't know the brand just know it works and I don't look a gift horse in the mouth.

Cool, I'll keep my eyes open.

I ended up getting the PYLE VIEW PLCM22IR...

For 50 bucks shipped I'll give it a shot!

Specs seem pretty good.
