What Part #'s Needed For OEM Trailer Hitch Setup?

My 03 Av did not come with a trailer hitch and I now need one for a cross country move. I would like to know what part #'s I need to order to have a hitch just like the factory (or dealer) installed setup.

I looked at gmpartsdirect.com and came up with GM PART # 12498497, description - Platform Trailer Hitch, cost: GM LIST: $195.00. OUR PRICE: $163.80. Is this the only thing I need to order or are there other wiring or ball mount kits needed? Any ideas how much a dealer would charge for a hitch?

Lastly, I have a 6" lift, will I need some kind of adapter that lowers the point where the trailer connects to the hitch due to the increased ride height? If this is something I may need, any recommendations? This may be a very silly question, but just something that I was thinking about.

Thanks for the help everyone!

That PN will get you everything to mount the reciever to the frame. You'll also get the 7 to 4 pin wiring converter. The wiring harness will probably be tucked up on the spare tire. Pull it down and snap it into place. The instructions included are pretty good. You will still need the part that slides into the hitch, a pin to hold it, and a ball. You may also want to add an aux trans oil cooler. I did. All the info you need is a few threads up from this one. Also, I always use the GMPartsDirect price to negotiate with my dealer. I got the same hitch you did for $166 from the local dealer. It's always worth haggling.
