Where did you guys put your sirius antenna on your Avalanche? Does anyone have a the Stiletto 100 setup and does it have an audio in port?

Thanks

I just installed my Sirius antenna last weekend. The way I installed mine is through the Third Brake light boot onto the roof. Then down the back window to the Power inwerter where I had 12V available and a straight shot to the TV tuner to connect it to the IP bus. Mine is connected to my Pioneer AVIC-Z1
You however have a more unique situation. It seems you have the protable Ipod style. So you would probabilly get the Sirius FM Direct Adapter. Model # FMDA25

You will need to remove the dash face plate. Remove the factory radio with a 7mm socket. Install the FM Direct adapter between the OEM radio. then route the jack adapter for your Stiletto somewhere??? while still having a view of the sky overhead. Probabilly the best senario would be to fine some kind of cell phone type adapter that will clip into that center vent or perhaps try routing it through the center console cupholder if you have one, and it will still get antenna signal. It's not exactly the best senario.

Now that I think of it. You can also try going to Best Buy or Circuit city. ask them what you will need then go out and procure the parts yourself. That's an example of taking the easy way out.
:D

No Stiletto, but I keep looking at them for my car...

here's where I installed my antenna.

and about 2 feet higher.  >:D

The reason I am asking is because in the manual says to place it in the back of the vehicle. GM places it on the front so I just wanted to see where other people were placing the antennas on the front or rear.

mine was installed in the front because it was a lot easier to go from the windshield to the HU than from the back of the Av all the way to the front.  No problems with it mounted there.

Mine is installed under the sail panel also.

Great reception and nothing is visible? (y)

Kinda sucks don't it.

Grrr... It pains me to say this but I think I may re-locate my antenna now.

I wondered how to get it back there.  That's nice!  I've been too lazy so far.  It's still sitting on the dash in the corner.  :(

under the headliner and out the third brake light hole. Made a bracket.. more "l-shaped" and mounted the antenna's directly to there... off the back end of the cab as you can tell from the photo. There is plenty of room to move it back off the cab. It wouldn't work if it was mounted directly to the cab as the third brake light cladding sits flush on the cab.

Can you give me a part number or what section of the store it was at. I have been to Lowe's, Home Depot and Walmart and none say they carry the brackets. Are those metal or plastic?

All of those stores carry the "L-bracket." I don't know what they part numbers are.

I have attached a pic of something similar. You can use anything to make your own. This picture is to just give you an idea.
