I wanted to bring this topic and take a vote for those who are coming to the East Coast Regional. More than likely this will take place on the 2nd day. Saturday.

RAFT THE UPPER BIG PIGEON RIVER!​

No experience required. Minimum age is 8 years of age. On the Upper Pigeon you will experience some of the best white water in the area. This exciting trip is action packed with continuous class II-IV rapids. When your trip is done you will have traveled 6.5 miles of the best white water that Tennessee has to offer​

What if it rains?

Our trips go rain or shine.You will get wet anyway.


What if I can not swim?

Many rafters can not swim. That is why all our guest are required to wear a Coast Gaurd approved life vest.


What should I wear?

In the Summer you should wear shorts, or bathing suit. In the Spring or Fall we suggest you dress in layers by wearing synthetic such as fleece or polypropolene. We provide spray jackets at no extra cost. Secure footwear is required! NEVER WEAR COTTON IN COLDER WEATHER!!!!!!!



What are guaranteed days on the Pigeon River
Carolina Power and Light is required to release water for recreational purposes 4 days a week from Memorial Day to Labor Day, 12:00 Noon until 6:00pm. The 2003 release days are Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday. We will book trips early in the year for non-guaranteed days, but if you book on a non-guaranteed water release day you must call the Friday before to confirm your date and time.



Do you need previous rafting experiance ?
No. Most of our guests have never been rafting before. There is a professional guide in each raft. The most important skill you can have is the ability to listen to your guide. Everything else we can teach you.

Is anyone interested in doing the Whitewater Rafting while were in Pigeon Forge?

This will take place in June 6,7,8. The plan was to have it on the 7th Saturday.

If we have enough members we can get the discount. This really looks a lot of fun and I've never done this.

Sounds like a great family/group activity. How many do we need to get discounts? Do they have a max limit of rafters for a group?

This would be a great rafting trip for everyone. Though I haven't rafted it, I have kayaked this river several times, and it's a blast! I could raft along with the rest, or I may take my kayak down with the group.

Any other w/w kayaking AVer's out there?

sounds like fun to me...except...I better remember to get in the raft and not put the AV in the river....I've been known to sink my Avalanche or think its a submarine! AJ...I'm catching up with you brother!

Have never gone White Water Rafting, but it is definitely on the to do list. We are going to try to take the week off prior to the gtg, and white water rafting and/or hang gliding are definitely going to be accomplished on this vacation
