Thinking of picking up a Honda CB1000, its about 7.5 ft long. Will be a 4 hr drive there and back, so I'd like to be sure it will fit in the truck BEFORE I go! I assume it will fit with the midgate down. Wondered if anyone had any exp. putting any bigger bikes back there. Also, assuming the weather aint the nicest (cold), can I get by just keeping the heater on high? I appreciate any advice. Thanks, Scott

ride bike to nearest chevy dealer.

tell them to make it fit.

buy AV!

keep the windows up and buy the butt bakers.

what will be dirtier? ;D

I take it back...I don't necessarily appreciate ANY advice.

Anyway, searched through the threads for this topic, and it seems that people have hauled bigger bikes than what I am trying to. So I'll probably give it a try. I'm just not sure what "configuration" I will need to go with on the AV.

just having fun.

But, it sounds like you ain't into fun.

Maybe try a Pacer.

Scott,

Hi Scott and welcome to the club. You will find that we already have a few threads were the members have discussed the carrying of bikes in the back of their avs.

You will find one of the best ones HERE.

This thread has a whole five pages of discussion about carrying motorcycles and I'm sure all your questions will be answered there.

In order to keep all of our valuable information in one easy to find place we will lock this thread and request that you continue your discussion or post questions about carting bikes in the above thread.

TIA,

Skidd
