It is getting closer, had the PIAAs ripped off the bullbar on my Dodge today - getting ready for the AV.
Wondering, what is the difference between a Z66 and a Z71?
Also, I'm not fond of leather but like heated seats in the winter, do the leather seats with cloth insert come with heat or is it just the all leather ones?
Cruised dealers today, finally found the new red and SOM.......I am back to being a SOM freak...my new baby will definitely be orange. Already thinking of the gobs of money it is going to take to trick it out.....I like chrome....
Why are there NO 2500s on the dealer lots? don't they order them?????

Well Z66 and Z71 are the same option just one is 2WD (Z66) and Z71 is 4WD. The Heated leather are the all leather ones the leather/cloth are not heated. I know I am looking at a 2500 and there are not many out there. Where are you located? I know here in the PNW (pacific North West) there are not many but back east there are a few.

I had to have mine ordered....a SOM in 2500 configuration...........Probably another 3 weeks but I have word it is built and just making the trek from the plant in Mexico to NC.

In 02 when I was interested in buying my 2500 the dealer looked for a long time to find it but I am glad I waited.

It is only my opinion........but there are A/V's and then there are 2500 a/v's.......sure the milege isn't as good but the power and torque????????? WOW!

Keep looking for a 2500.....you will be glad you did

I'm located between Colorado Springs and Denver. I think in the last 6 months I have hit every dealer and 2500s are very scarce. I guess I'll be doing without the heated seats, I don't want the leather- stick to it in shorts in the summer. After all of the advice here I have decided to just bite the bullet and order one....never done this before but I am excited. Then I'll have exactly what I want.

Congrats on your decision to get an AV!! You WON'T be sorry!!! And I know you've been here and posted 19 times, but Welcome to the Club!! :B:

They also may be able to do a dealer trade that is what we do here at the dealership I work for. We try to locate one in a 300 mile area the way you want it so you don't have to wait 6-8weeks but if we can't find one the way you want it then we have to order it.

Hell, I figure I've waited two years, what's another 6-8 weeks!! I just got my certificate in email.....I'm so excited I think I'm gonna hurl!!! :D: Thanks AVid, you are the MAN!!!!!!

Hey, I just noticed I have feedback +1/-1. What does this mean? (I am forum board retarded)

Ordering one out is part of the fun, but then I am driving an 02 while I am waiting.........I have looked and looked to get a preview of SOM but nothing around here. I guess when I pull into the dealership I will know which one is mine.......

There are lots of options to look at when you order. Staring with a 2500 is one heck of a starting point.

Best of luck to you.

Hey, how do you give someone good or bad karma? And why the hell did someone give me bad karma?????!!! Can't we all just get along??!!

Ah, the quest for karma. As the dali lama said, "my karma just ran over your dogma" err... maybe that wasn't him...

Usually, someone gives you good karma if they like a post you wrote, bad if they think you post like an idiot. At least that's my story and I'm sticking to it. ;D

Well, I have already admitted I am forum board retarded so I guess I won't lose any sleep over a little bad karma. Just glad everyone here has been so helpful and full of knowledge. :D

I assume you went to GM BuyPower Web Site, built the 2500 they way you want it, then did a search of all the Dealerships that have it listed? You can expand the search outward for as far as you care to drive.

I spent the better part of 2 months waiting for the local fellow to do the "We can Trade One with another Dealer seach". He never found it, located it on my own with the BuyPower Search, and bought it the next day (just a short 2 hour ride away imagine that).

Welcome to the Club. Sent you some Karma (Good only from my keyboard!)

Dan

The hell with Karma......My a/v is priced at $9500 off sticker, that's Karma enough for me.....Going on vacation Friday and the rig is expected at the dealers a week later when I return........I can hardly wait....

SOMthing wonderful is about to happen.

My advise is if you locate a 2500,be willing to drive to the dealer and buy it directly. Don't rely on your local dealer to trade another for the vehicle you want at another dealership. That's the reason I missed out being inducted into the SOM nation. My dealer couldn't come through with the located vehicle. Now I am a member of the SRM society. :6:

Chevydan - Yeah, I went to the site and built one, wanted to see what kind of money we're talking. I have just started trying to sell my Dodge so I am not at the contact dealer stage just yet.
Dix2500-$9500 off!!!! That is excellent Karma, hope mine is that good.
RatFink - I have pretty much decided just to order one just like I want it instead of playing the switch around game with a dealer trying to locate one. After I found out (on this site) that you pay the same I figure I might as well get one exactly like I want it. I have been to almost every dealer within 100 miles and the pickings are slim for 2500s to begin with, not to mention finding one in SOM.

Oh Yeeaahhh!!! We have another Female member of the Nation... :2:

Fabulous! ;D

Welcome to the club and to the Nation Corsagirl... (y)

Corsagirl:

I think if your gonna order one you need to get cranking as I believe they shut off taking orders SOMetime later this month.

The Chevy rebates are incredible.....I will end up paying less for this one than I did my 02 and I thought that was a deal.....Plus this one comes with a DVD, steering wheel entertainment and systems controls, Sat radio and so on.

From having one I and driving it about 50,000 miles I KNOW what I am getting and I am still excited.

Go for it!!!!!!!!!
