Would this imply that something changed between the '02 and the '03 in that area? Why is it only the '03 that is being recalled?

Savvy:

Where did you find the recall? I have an appointment to take my 2003 Z71 on the 19th and would love to have them do the fix at that time.

That's my question too.

These recalls sometimes make me laugh. It's like saying "Certain specific employees may develop symptoms that may indicate they have potentially contracted a virus, that may or may not cause them to cough in the general direction of their boss, and potentially spit could be flung onto said boss' nose, causing possible termination of this employee or others in the vicinity."

I'd like know as well. I doubt that the 02 AV morphed into an 03 with major structural changes. I'll bet $5 that the 02 has the same susceptibility (sp).

I too am looking to make an appointment.

Good catch!!

Well, I'll take mine in for the recall, but they'd better not mess with the groaning moose sound in my steering box. I like it the way it is . . . thank you. ;)

I just want to know if the shield they're adding is effective for protecting the gas tank when you're off-roading. Because if it is I want one! >:D

I would also like to know if this recall pertains to the 02' as well. Because I would rather have that shield, than find out the worng way and have a fuel leakage.

I checked into this recall info with my service manager while I was at the dealership yesterday. He said that he didn't have any concrete details yet as GM hasn't started sending official notifications to either customers or dealerships yet, but that his understanding was that this is something that only affects 2500 AVs, and only a very few of those.

Guess we'll all know more when they send out the official notices.

Hey I have a groaning moose in my steering box also. Wonder if it comes standard with the 2003's?

Yes, Moose are standard with the Z 71 and Z66 Pkges.....you can however, upgrade to an Elk, dolphin, or poodle (depending on your area)

Just as the plural of elk is elk, the plural of moose is moose. ;)

A male is a bull and a female is a cow.

"There are three moose feeding in the willows"

Read up a little further where you'll see...

So no one can say for sure until the notifications come out. But looks like it's probably going to be a small number of '03 2500 Avalanches affected.

I believe, but not sure, that if they are females the plural would be Moosee's. ;)
