Avalanche Z71 / Mountain Logos

:0:Hey Rich how about an Avalanche Mountain design in the Stars and Stripes Vinyl to match my Flag Bowtie and my Stars and Stripes Z-71 Logo decal from (Oops, a competitor :-[) Decalking ??? (I kinda got a theme goin' here) ?Let me know if you come up with something! ;D

webbie44
I'd be on board for something like that too! I'm looking to swap out the std Z71 for something like this and the mountains with it would be outstanding!

You know it man. Placed my order first thing this morning. I am assuming the stock decals shouldn't be too difficult to remove. Prior to removal, I am going to place a piece of masking tape along the bottom and forward edge as a guid for installation of the new decal. I am going to get the hair dryer back out and warm up the decal until it's hot to the touch. Then start peeling 'er back.

Jamie

How can you remove the existing design? I thought the Z71 (and other graphics for the other models) was part of the paint job in the rear quarters.

Limerick,

Those are just decals that can be heated up and delicately removed. Many members have changed them or removed them completely without any problems.

I'd go for one with the mountains in grey (gray?) and the 4x4 in black. I removed the original decals because they were not aligned properly and have been looking for something a little different to replace them.

Really?! Wow, that's great news. I think I'd rather have nothing in the back quarter panel, and just have the small, raised Z71 emblem that I've seen on the top of the line Suburbans. It is smallish, and on the pillar between the front and rear windows.

I look forward to taking off the decals when I get my Av.

I just sent an email to Streamlinedesign regarding the Stars and Stripes design, I'll post his reply. ;D

Streamline,
These decals are great!, but what are the chances of getting a North Face decal? Any copyright violations etc?

any possibility of doing the Z71 Mountains logo with "off-road" instead of avalanche in the Z? With painted cladding letters and a windshield decal, the name is already prominent on all 4 sides of my truck...

That's a very good point and I would like to see the words Off Road instead of Avalanche as well. I just saw a Silverado with the Z-71 logo and the words Off Road. It looks real sweet.

How about no Z66 or Z71 for us that have the base Av and feel a little naked on the side. Just the mountain and the Av logo.

Rich already has this decal. It's the same one that is used on the C-pillar (2" x 6.25"). I have the 4" x 12.5" version on the rear and front of my Av.

Midlifecrisis, I received my Mountain/Z71 decal this morning. Looks good. Problem is, temps are barely above zero right now :8:

I ordered a set for the C-pillars, the visors, and a big mountain AV one for the rear window. They were shipped Friday. I am thinking about new Z71 ones to match, but I'll see how I like the other ones first. It's cold (5*) here today, so I won't be able to put them on for a while either.

Don't let the cool hold you back. I put mine on in 15? temps a few weeks ago. Just use a hair dryer to warm up the work surface first. When it's warm to the touch, you are good-to-go. Similarly, make sure the decal is warm. When I put the decal in place, I used the hair dryer to warm it as well. Made installation a breeze in the cold.

Sweet designs and concepts.

Are either of these possible? (please see attached image)

I have a pewter AV and need to get the reds and blacks for it.

As soon as I get them I' will put the AV in the garage then and give it a try! I really like the Z71 ideas that folks are coming up with! (y) I'm glad I held off on ordering those!

The garage is too full, so I brought the rear window inside to put the decal on. It looks fantastic! I got the shade shift blue/purple.

Thank you, Rich! Awesome!

I want one for my windshield!

Let's see a photo. I still like the original and put it on my rear window (had to bring it inside also).

Rich,

I'd like to see what color scheme would look best with a Silver Metallic Av. I was thinking of either a 2 or 3 color decal, just behind the rear passenger door. Could you post some photo ideas?

Thanx

Jamie,
What size are the stock ones for the sides.

OK, here's the scoop:
For the C-pillar, you want 2" x 6.25"
For the rear, you'd want the 4" x 12.5"
The new Z71/Z66 decals for the sides are 3.75" x 13.5"

I got my mountain Z71 decals today. Hope to get them on this weekend. Will certainly post results after installation.

You will have to give me a few days (weeks , months ???)to figure out the new digital camera we got. Technology is so technological! These are the times I wish I had a kid to ask...

What do you think?
Red 03 Z71

Visor
One Pair Avalanche Visor Logos
Mountains / Logo
Red Metallic w/ Silver Print

Back window
Vinyl Avalanche Logos - Mountains
Red Metallic

2-Color Z71-Mountain Logo
Red Metallic Z71

Would the red metallic show up ok on the back window and back sides replacing the original z71?
:cautious:
