So, I say - "I'll drive my capable alternative - '87 S10 Blazer and leave the Av parked in the garage."
My wife says - "Why did you buy it if you're not going to drive it?"
With me it was the exact opposite. I wanted to drive it, my wife said I shouldn't.
Just before Xmas I made the deal on an Av, and they found one just like I wanted, but out of town. They said they would pick it up right after Xmas. Before that could happen we got seven feet of snow in a few days.
This was the view out my front door on the day I was
supposed to pick up the new Av (It's still early in the storrm, there's not quite 3 feet at this point):
I was really upset because I had to wait for my truck, but I was more upset that I couldn't play in the snow with the new truck.
Maybe she was trying to console me for the MIA truck, but she thought I was nuts for wanting to take a new truck out in snow like that! I said "That's why I wanted it, I know it can handle it." She then said "What about the other idiots on the road, you want one of them to hit you?"
In the end, I ended up using the old Blazer for the next week, but that's only because I had to wait for the truck to arrive.
If I had my Av that week, I would've spent the whole time out there in the snow with my truck!
As it was, by the time I actually got the truck, all the streets were cleaned up and dry.
