how much did you pay for your Av

If I were you I would do a complete DOD conversion while you have it out of the vehicle, it really sucks pulling the heads, intake and everything else while it's in the truck.

Smart to keep spare engine, my 05 z71 has 200k & now the dreaded lift tick 🤬
I used the Diablo Predator 2 to do away with the DOD so that wouldn't happen, if I would have had the money I would have done the complete DOD swapping the cam, lifters and the valley pan before I installed the engine when I bought my Avy, the engine had only 32k miles on it when I installed it and now it has right around 70k miles and runs like a top. I'm probably going to do the complete cam thing when I get the time for it to be down for a couple of days.

Bought in 2020 in SD for about $8500. 2005 1500 LT Z71 w/186,000.

If we didn't still have a loan for our '16 Odyssey I'd have gone with a lower mileage, but it looked pretty good for that mileage.

Bought my 2005 LTZ Z71 on 2-28-05,,,stickered 43100.00, paid employee pricing, I'll have to look it up to see exactly what I paid...

I bought my 2003 Avy last year at my local San Diego auto auction for $2200 with 287K miles. I bought it because it fired right up and ran too good for me too leave without her... a year later and a rebuilt transmission (suprised the original almost lasted 300k...!) Now she has 292K With custom headlights taillights grille intake and exhaust I hope I never have too sell it 🤍

Technically my dad bought it as I'm just a poor college student but he paid about $3,500 in October of 2021. Sounds like a good deal, until you realize that it had 291,000 miles and needed the frame rebuilt. Me and dad are diesel truck mechanics so we spent about 2-3 weekends rebuilding the frame. Turned a lemon into the best truck I have had the pleasure of driving.

Found a post from 2006 "Got my '02 a year ago to the day (I believe) 58,000 miles for $14,500 plus my '99 blazer with 130,000 miles... great deal I believe...I should have spent the extra $5,000 for the '03 with 39,000 and all the fixings though..."

Sold that about 3.5 years later and still regret it.

In process of buying an '05 with 77K miles for $16K - kind of hard to believe I'm spending more now for a 17 year old truck versus a 4 year old truck with less miles, but my old '02 was an base LS and my 'new' '05 is an LT with the fixings.

I got my '05 Z71 with about 290k km on the odometer for a case of wine. The pinion bearing was squealing and the previous owner (a friend of my wifes) was told it would be about $1500 to repair. They knew we were looking for another truck (was in the middle of repairing the transmission in my wifes Explorer and my F150 was having engine problems) so we were offered the truck. Cost me about $300 for all new bearings and seals in the rear end.

I bought my 2002 new for $33K. It currently has $150k. Been a great truck. I have had to replace the rear main seal and the differential. Never had a diff go out on me but this one started whining and when I popped the case I had 3 broken teeth. My only complaint is that the mid-gates leaks when it rains and carpet will be wet if I don't park on an incline.

Bought my 2005 Z71 in late 2018 for $5k with 145k on the odo. Now at 177k with 6" lift, 35s, led headlights, power tailgate lock, supertuner, 09 tahoe brakes on the front, Bakflip bed cover, Kryptonite UCAs, all lights on when switch to brights mod and I am sure other stuff. Soon to come winch bumper, winch and coilover conversion. WHEN THEY BOMB NEW ENGINE AND TRANNY.

2002 green 2500 purchased 1-2020 with 195K, $9K. Excellent truck. I really love driving it. Have a spare 2500 rolled driver if I need motor/trans etc...

I bought my 2004 Z71 in 2007… it had 130,000 miles on it and I gave $11,000. When I approached my credit union for a loan the lady didn’t believe me, she wanted a signed offer and acceptance before she would even quote terms. After I faxed the paperwork necessary she approved the loan over the phone telling me, she figured it was a bait and switch deal because the loan value was $16,000!… It has 323,000 miles on it now and going strong!… Cheers!
