Rattles

My AV is about 1 month old. I have an 03. I swear I keep hearing a rattling noise on the passenger side, it will come and go. I am curious does anyone heard of anything like this before? Please help. :E:

MERGED here so it is with the rest of the rattles......

The pressure from the seats being up stopping it makes me think that the latch is not latching tightly. The two latches on each side are double latches -- each latch takes two clicks to close tightly, just like the doors.

When you close it, can you hear two clicks from each latch? My guess is the latch needs adjusting. Either it is too tight, and the second click isn't happening, or it's too loose and even with the second click it is not pulling in tight.

Eather way, sounds like a trip to the dealer to have it checked out and adjusted. When the midgate is latched properly you should be able to push firmly right below the latch and not have any significant movement.

Just a guess, kind of hard to diagnose remotely. :6:

Thanks! That fixed it. With all my might, I could not get a second click. So I got out my trusty Torx 30 driver and brought the latches out on the midgate. Now, with a firm push, I get two clicks and no rattles. This forum is great! I only go to the dealer when I need a part. Adjustments I'll do. Had the truck for 8 months and didn't know how to shut the midgate!!!

Took care of the flapping window trim last week. Truck is nice and quite now.

I have picked up a rattle that has been driving me nuts.? It is like a high pitched chirping that rattles with the vibration from the road.? It sounds like a demented parakeet chirping in morse code.? I have to crank the stereo to keep a strained grip on my sanity.? It kind of sounds like it is near the front driver door but that could be because thats where I am.? after reading the thread maybe I should just take it to the dealer and let them try to find it.
