I guess im the only one who doesnt like that ChevroFORD ....looks too much like a rounded off F150 to me......Chevy could at least let us order the cladding if we want.....
Guess I need to get an '05. Don't want on-star, stabilitrak, steering-wheel radio controls, and who knows what else they'll shove down our throats....and don't want to pay for them! I'd just like to have two front seats that both have the same power features. WITHOUT Leather.AvaLance said:Yep I may end up, upgrading to a 2006 (because I don't know how much farther my 02 will go with 120K) and get a 2006 cladding loaded... THen keep it forever..lol....

AvaLance said:.last year 25.7% of Avalanche's sold had cladding 25% is still 1/4 of AV sold.? It is funny you will see cladding in different area CA, OR, WA all you see is WBH but you go NJ and even parts of TX you see alot more cladding
CdnGator said:You'll have to find an early production 05, mine came with Stabilitrak and I really don't like it. The "Traction Assist" is always coming on when it's a little wet on the roads. Yeah, maybe I am a little throttle heavy, but I still don't like it.

one or the other...but not both...

My Son works for a Pontiac, Buick, GMC Dealer in St. Charles (I think that's where) and I've noticed on their web site they never have new 2wd GMC's. He says they only order 4wd's.4rvfun said:Went by my dealer last night and they have 22 new Av's in stock. 5 have been modded with the painted cladding like the Regency in another thread. Of the 17 others, 2 were WBH, 15 cladded. No 2500's. The salesman there said that they run about 80% cladded or painted cladded. He also said when a WBH comes in for trade they move it to their other used car lot. A couple of other sales guys joined the conversation and said that the cladded ones tend to go to p/u trade ins (me) and the WBH's were SUV trade ins. The rumor they have heard is that the new 07 will be WBH standard, but with a more pronounced flare package option. What they heard was that it would be less than cladded, but more than just the fender flares.? I'll be due for a new on about then.?
CdnGator said:I sit in an 05 everyday with a Stabilitrak button on the dash and a message that comes up on the DIC that says "TRACTION ACTIVE". The 05 AVs have Traction Assist System with Stabilitrak in Canada.
Traction Control:
the traction control system utilizes electronic controls to help limit rear-wheel slip when you're driving on most slippery surfaces, including wet pavement, ice, gravel, snow or sand. When sensors determine there is rear-wheel slippage, engine power is reduced to limit rear-wheel spin.
StabiliTrak
The StabiliTrak Vehicle Stability Enhancement System improves vehicle stability, particularly on slick surfaces or during emergency maneuvers. The system uses an array of sensors coupled with a master electronic control module to constantly monitor the driver?s steering commands. When StabiliTrak senses one or more of the wheels slipping, loss of lateral traction (side slip), understeer (plowing) or oversteer (fishtailing), the system adjusts engine torque and/or brake pressure at individual wheels to help the driver get the vehicle back on track. Available only on 2WD Avalanche models with the available Premium On-Road Suspension Package. Replaces Traction Assist as optional equipment.
ygmn said:SO when you have Stabilitrak you have a more advanced system...that does everything traction assist does and more....as it has Yaw, pitch and roll sensors to help when making emergency meneuvers....by reducing engine power and engaging particular wheel brakes.....to help maintain control
Where Traction assist just stops the rear wheels from spinning if one is loose and spinning faster....by reducing engine power
huge difference and they are not combined....
I think what you are seeing is....when you have a wheel that is spinning it says something about traction...but is not Traction assist....
AvaLance said:Humm Rounded finders must meaning WBH? ? I really hope they don't do away with cladding.? I can't wait to see how they changed the front end.? I guess I will hold out for a 2007 AV Eather way I will want the new AV.? I love these trucks personaly I like the current body of the AV.? Just my 2 cents
Loggie said:No body hardware? I hope they still offer it. I would imagine it would look like the cladding on the Colorado and follow the curves of the wheels.
DougD said:That's not cladding, those are just flares
Loggie said:Ok! I know that?I?m just saying I hope they make the cladding follow the wheel-well, like the flares on the Colorado.
