I think they definitely make the truck look better - even my seats are proud to be in a Chevy :B:. I do wish they were a little nicer. Perhaps embroidered (am I allowed to use that word on this board? ;)), rather than the plasticy thing stitched onto the seat. But if they took them away in the '03s, then I guess I won't complain about mine....way better than not having them at all.

Wow, for a second there I thought I wasn't very observant. I couldn't for the life of me remembe seeing a bowtie on the seats. Bummer, I too have the cloth seats.

I love my cloth seats and wouldn't trade them in just to get bowties.

I guess I will give the only desenting opinion on the seat bowties....I'm glad they got rid of them. I'm spending $37K on a Chevy truck and with writing a check to Chevy each month I don't need 200 bowties all around the vehicle reminding me its a Chevy. I know it is. I just always thought it looked funny looking into the AV and seeing a big bowtie in EVERY seatback...just looked cluttered. But of course that is IMHO and just my $0.000000000000000000000000000000000000019

I recently read where Ford had to cut $700 from each new F150 in order to make ends meet. I guess with the cutting out of the bow ties and the articulating headrests on the 03 seats, Chevy is just trying to cut costs.

And now that you have to write all those checks that's all you can afford ? ;D

I was thinking the same thing about the word Avalanche, it's in 3 different places. ?And then of course I go and get a vanity plate "AVALNCH" and the Avalanche windshield sticker and the Avalanche etched hood guard ? ?Don't think I haven't taken a buch crap for that.

I'm with ya CQB, IMHO if the bowties weren't so "stand outish" (yellow on charcoal seats, yellow on tan isn't bad at all) I wouldn't mind them, for me they need to be a little more subdued. I'm glad mine doesn't have them. Don't get me wrong I'm proud to be a Chevy owner and prouder to be an Avy owner but I don't think I need to have the bowtie on all my seats.

I have the bowties on my seats and I can say I enjoy them very much...they add a sporty look to the interior which by no means is plain or lacking in my opinion....besides it reminds me who's getting the check every month.... :B:

Personally, I am a subdued GoldBowTie and not too "stand outish."

Oh yeah, I do like the bow ties on my seats, and wheels, and floor mats, and grill, and.... well you get the idea.

I originally thought these were embroidered on the seats but according to this thread it seems as though they are sewn on? Is that true. If so hard hard would it be to get some and sew them onto the cloth seats?

Possibly my next mod :0:

It seems I'm among the few on this one because I don't
like the bowtie on the seats :cautious:

I guess I don't deslike them as much since I replaced the Gold part of the bowtie with Gray Vinyl. I didn't think that Gold went with my Black and gray scale AV (y)

You can check out what I'm talking about on my link in the sig. I think it would probably look better matching any of the exterior AV colors ( ie Pewter, Red . . . )

My 2 cents worth (y)

IM,

Can you explain how you did this either here or send me a message. I would really like to add these to my cloth seats if I can.

BTW - Your pics are awesome, great looking Av (y)

Thanks,

I like my bowties - but I am a chevy man. Got bowties on seats, floor mats, mud flaps, grille, and even added 2 refletive red bowties to the step hole corners in my rear bumper. To each his own. :B: :B: :B:

Just writing to say that while the excess of bowties on this things is excessive, I do like them, even though they could have been stitched instead of a sew-in plasticy thingy. Okay, that was a run-on. Like: yes, Need: no, Could be better: yes.

And AvaLance, don't be angry they nixed 'em on the '03--that's why you have an '02! Or are you gonna get an '03 and do a seat swap!

I like the look of the bowtie in the seats also. Speaking about making them a little better, that's Chevy. A lot of interior thingys could be made a little better. But hey, that's why the Escalade EXT is $20,000 more, right?

I was in an EXT last month. I wasn't too impressed. I rather have all of the new toys in the new AV's to start modding with instead >:D

Just the Newbie again,

I love the Bowtie seats, I even like the gold color makes them stand out from in the crowd. ?Embroidery would not be able to hold up to the rigors of everyday usage. ?I think GM knew exactly what they were doing with the plastic Bowties sewn on to the seats. ?By now if embroidered the threads would be coming loose or if they got wet they would have shrunk or color bled. ?Scary to think that GM could have known what they were doing, but I must say I think they did this time. ?Keep this up I might loose my Newbie status?.
