What Is A Good Price At The Moment?

Thank you all, I just bought the AV yesterday night. First two things that I will do:
1. Make sure the tire pressure is correct.
2. Change my oil to Mobil 1 Synthetic with also Mobil 1 or K&N Oil Filter.

Any other suggestions as what a newbie should or shouldn't do to the AV?

BTW: I've been reading about the oil burning, etc in AV and some people switch to 10-30 on it. My question, is the OIL burning a known issue to all years of AV or just say to 2001 and 2002 AV? If it's a general issue, why GM is not fixing this oil burning issue?

I used to own a 2001 Z06 and currently own a 2002 Z06. 2001 Z06 also has an oil burning issue, in which it's fixed in 2002 and for the 01 GM is fixing the car if indeed it has an oil burning issue.

Thank you all very much,
Victor

What about in CDN $. Im looking to buy a 2003 Z66. List is $42,800.00. Dealer says I can buy for about
$36,000.00 & taxes (15% ontop of prices here).
(((i'll probably have to beg for this price)))
Only options in this are 6 disc cd & buckets-cloth.

All above Canadian $.
Will probably go with 0%/60 month gmac finacing.

By the way, I just registered on the site!!

Thanks..

Hey Everyone,
At Gwatney Chervrolet in Jacksonville Arkansas, I bought a 02 4x4, light Pewter Metalic for $28,400.00. The sticker was 35 and change. I thought about getting a Z71 but what I would have gotten for the higher cost didn't seem worth it. I did get the :D17 inch tires and heavy rubber floor mats thrown in as well as locking diff.

I think I was getting a good deal...then they told me I got zero % financing...even better.

Hello All,
I have been talking to my dealer and was told the rebates at this time are :

4000 or 0%
1000 for Chevy loyalty

total 5K

My wife (bless her heart) told me I can trade my 2002 Z-66 for a 2003 Avalanche- Z-71.
I am looking at AV's loaded, Leather, heated seats, assist steps.
All are stickering for around 41 to 42K. I have not seen any higher that 42800.
SO, Twist here is this.
I was at my dealer last night when this older guy drives up in a new Vette. We start chatting- he is getting ready to buy as well.
HE STATED the only reason he is buying is the rebates (combined) are arounf 6200 dollars.
HELP as I found the AV I want, got the payment/price I want but I need the scoop on rebated.
HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What is the truth. I know they are ever changing.

NOTE: I live in Cleveland, Ohio so rebates may varie by local?
I just do not know.
Let me know ASAP.

Sands611,

I might be wrong but what I got was:
$4000 rebate for GM
$1000 Chevrolet Loyalty Rebate
$500 GM Conquest.

There is also $1000 Olds Mobil Loyalty and $750 Military.

If you get $4000 + $1000, that's cool but ask the dealer how much is the AV without the rebates. Make sure you get at least a thousand dollars under invoice.

I think I have posted before that in total my deal (two days ago), I had about $12k off MSRP (With all the rebates).

What's the GM Conquest rebate?
Thanks,

SpottyJ

Mine was an 03 1500 Z-66 w/ 50 miles on it. Listed 35,500 got it for 30k. This was Cloth Bucket seats, BOSE 6 speaker CD Radio, w/ rear Audio controls & Trailering Package. Been happy since with no regrets.

Just got an 03 Avy, Z-71 with roofrack, assiststeps, XM, onstar, security pckge, conv pckg, sunroof, 8-way leather, Bose, etc.  Here are my details:

MSRP of:  $43,117

Invoice: $38,345 (Includes the  $815 destination charge, and $423 and $211 in adv fees)

Got:  $4,000 GM Rebate
Got:  $500 GM Conquest Rebate
Got:  $200 under invoice
Got:  Not dealer prep fee, no other hidden costs
Got:  $200 in my choice GM accessories (I chose to have the dealer buy and install the Ground effects package)
Got:  3.49% financing for 60 months
Got:  Full tank of gas and extra keys
Got:  No hassle final transaction

Truck was brand new, 3 miles, made in July 03!  One of the very last 03's.  Truck was exactly as I would have ordered it.  I bought the vehicle prior to it arriving at the dealer lot.   I was going to wait for a 04' but then I was afraid to lose the $4,000 rebate.  And to me the 04's are not much different than 03's.

PM me if you have any questions, or want more details/advice.

The dealers around here seem to be following a formula....
MSRP less 14% dealer discount
$4000 rebate
$500 conquest
example...
$34245 MSRP
$4794 dealer discount
$4500 rebate and conquest
$24951 actual selling price

I've found a red Z66. Leaving for the dealer with my checkbook right now.

"Look at that big red mother"
that's what my wife said as I pulled into the driveway
with the red Z66
Here's the details...
$34245 MSRP
$5380 dealer discount (16% off msrp)
$4500 rebate and conquest
_____
$24365 net
$ 349 dealer fees
$24714 actual selling price

I think I left about $200 on the table.
A new negotiating tactic struck me after making the deal while overhearing some salesmen talking about quota problems with only one day left in the month.
One might strolll into the dealership on the last day of the month and ask for a salesman who hasn't made quota.
Just a thought.
BTW this is a great site and I applaud and thank the the fine people who have put their time and energy into it.

Oh, I forgot. They gave me full tank of gas.
That's probably another fifty bucks or so.
Great Deal!!!

I just picked up a loaded Z71 4WD in Metallic Dark Grey. I spent no less than three full nights on gmbuypower.com trying to find the truck with just the right options and came up with nothing! I must have looked through 100+ dealers inventory in a two-state radius of DC. Begrudgingly I passed the effort over to a local dealer and they found one 5 hours away at an undisclosed location (smart guy). I fear making him work so hard to get the truck hurt my haggling leverage a little but I wanted to get in on the $4000 rebate before it was too late and I didn't want to settle on something I didn't really want.

MSRP $42K
Dealer Processing Fee $200
Factory Rebate -$4K
Dealer Discount -$3.8K
Conquest -$500
GM Card Redemption -$1K
Net Amount $33,000

I'm going to hold the dealer to a few little extras prior to taking delivery (a free oil changes, a couple of tank fills, discount on accessories, etc...) but I know if I'd been willing to take one of the trucks he had sitting in the lot I'd likely have saved another grand or more. :8:

Congrats on the new Avy!

In mid July, I found my exact truck via a GM Buypower vehicle search after my local dealer said he found a truck 100 miles from his location but would not tell me where.  His price was well above invoice, but below MSRP, and I thought it was a high.  I then used my mapping program and drew a 100 mile circle and captured the zip codes from those areas and then input the zip codes into GM Buypower.  I found the truck pretty quick and saved over $1500 from the first dealer quote.  I guess the first dealer has to make a profit as well as the dealer who actually held the car.  I cut out a middleman and saved some $.

As a side note, my truck was not even on the lot at the time of purchase, it was enroute from Mexico.  I got it brand new, 3 miles and was outfitted like I would have ordered.

I too was pressed to buy quick to get the 4K and $500 conquest rebates.  For a $43,117 MSRP - I ended up spending $200 under invoice, plus $200 in dealer accessories "free", plus the $4500 GM rebates and no other fees, no taxes, no registration,  no dealer prep, etc.  (Yes, no taxes - I live in NH, bought car in CT).  I also used the GM points to lower my price after the negotiation.  I also received 3.49% APR for 5 years.  I think I got a great deal as well.

You didn't get nailed on the tax when you went to register it in NH? Or does NH not have any state tax on new autos?

I got confirmation on a rate of 3.9% for 48 months (1% less than advertised) though I'm not sure I'll need it or not. The dealer is also ready to throw in oil changes for a year and dealer cost for a grill guard.

AndrewVA:

Yes got nailed during registartion, the state has to make money some-how.

But, I am still better off than paying taxes. The NH state motto is- "Live Free or Die" or is it Live Dead for Free, I forget? - LOL.
